Pad usage for SS Toyota Paint

From my past experience UC has a very long work time, I actually prefer it to 105 because of this exact reason. When you were working a panel, were you doing larger than say a 18x18 area by hand? This may be the reason. If it dries out fast, just hit it with a quick detailer mist, and you should be good to go and shrink down you work area if applicable.

It was about 14x14. I will say it was pretty windy at the time. I used detailer and misted it which worked well.

I decided I am going to buy Lake Country CCS pads. 4-Orange, 4-White, 4-Red. This should be a suitable start for the oxidation removal and so on...

Sounds like a good plan

I finally got the order ready:

Griots 3rd Gen Random Orbital w/ longer cord
Duragloss 601 & 105
Lake Country CCS Pads x 12
Meguiars Hyperwash w/ Proportioner
Grit Guard x 1
Griots Garage Clay

This should work for what I need...

Based on the amount of oxidation, I'd suggest going with 4 orange, 6 white, and 2 red. Other than that, looks good.

You gonna love the GG6, and how much manual effort it will save you.

I was going to order a kit, decided I better ask some questions, signed up, and they gave me a code for 20% when signing up. Pretty sweet of them.

I did my wifes Sienna this weekend. Everything went really well. The only gripe I have, though small, is the Griots clay is very soft. I used detailer on my hand but still it stuck to my hand/fingers greatly. Now I guess I will see how well the 601/105 stands up to the elements.

Mothers is like that also. I have some Zaino and Pinnacle but haven't used them yet. Did you get some Aqua Wax to use as a drying aid for washing ?. Some DG 932 should work well on white both as a rinseless or mixed as a QD.

I did not, wish I would have bought some Aquawax. However, compared to other years of doing the van by hand, it went much better. I also was able to see better results.

Understand, machines definately make it easier and usually gives superior results.

I assumed this would be the case. However, being new to the whole polisher, I was not sure how it would go. I removed some minor scratches with Megs UC, then was not sure if I needed to hit it with Megs Polish...until I did a panel and realized the results.

I will say I have a whole new respect to those that do this for a living, they must get tired.
