Pad Washing Tips

Anybody have any good tips on cleaning form pads?
I cannot afford that fancy pad wash bucket.

I have been applying pad cleeaner then rinsing the pads in water.
Can i use some dish soap to further clean the product?

I just use dawn liquid detergent to wash them by hand in the sink. Works great for me, but I only use few at the time. Takes all but 5 minutes to get them washed.
 
I use Snappy. Works very well . throw pads in bucket for a few hours, then rinse clean.
 
I also use Dawn detergent in a bucket and throw all of my dirty pads in there. I sun dry them too. If I have dusty pads shooting them with an air compressor works well too.
 
I have another Dawm product that works well. Dawn Power Dissolve. I actually get all the reminants out. I tried it with PB wheel sealant which had stained the yellow pad with pink on a previous Dawn wash and the Power Dissolve took all the sealant out of the pad.
 
I use Optimum Power Clean...rinses much better than Dawn.

:iagree: with using a all purpose cleaner, except that I use Megs APC. I like that it cleans quickly, but most importantly, rinses easily. I learned this tip from Todd Helme.
 
Dawn power disolver for super stubborn stuff or meguiars degreaser for everyday stuff works really well for me.
 
I used a degrease and pressure wash them.....been doing this since 1997....never had a problem....i buy a new pad when the old one look torn up......this is cheap and cost nothing...
 
Any recommendations for collinite 476? That is REALLY tough to get out. I have been using ALL laundry detergent so far.
 
I throw them in a bucket of Oxyclean and water to soak, wring them out, and throw them in the washer using Charlie's soap. My old hands are cramped up enough from holding the polisher for hours and the last thing I want to do is stand over a sink squeezing out pads.
 
I use a cup of Super Clean in the washing machine with warm water on the heavy duty cycle and throw all of my dirty pads in and get them all done at once. I do the same with microfiber towels. It is a cheap effective way to clean pads and towels.
 
+1 on the Megs APC+. Just dilute like 8:1, let them soak overnight and rinse. It will even remove UTTG and wheel glaze from your applicator pads.
