What do you guys use for your Rupes? I'm ordering one and it says their pads are almost essential for the machine but I just love the CCS LC Pads they work for me and last a long time. What pads do you guys recommend and any other things I should get for the Rupes

Is the coarse blue pad from rupes a little more aggressive than the yellow lc pad

I haven't done any side by side testing with those two.

But from my limited experience with the blue pad and the yellow LC pad, I would say the blue pad has slightly more cut. Again, limited experience though and no side by side testing.

If you want more cut, just use a microfiber pad.

Thats what I went with. Just got two microfibers just in case.

I placed my order. I am pretty excited. Is this thing as good as it is hyped up to be?! I sure hope so

Oh it is. You will want to do the Kevin Brown washer mod as well so that the pad keeps spinning at higher speeds. :dblthumb2:

haha what would that be

Posted this on another thread:

Yes you are correct that is what the Rupes is about. However, the Rupes has a backing plate that has an into-spin feature. This feature slows the backing plate with friction.

This is from Kevin Brown:

Hope that explained it enough if not I can direct you to the entire article for you to read.

Long story short with the increase in speed and little to no pressure without the mod the backing plate with hit off the shroud of the machine thus stop the spinning. With the washer mod this allows enough space between the backing plate and the shroud to not have them hit and thus keeping the pad spinning.

I love the rupes yellow and white pads. The greens and blues are ok. Otherwise I use BnS pads. Ordered some scholls concepts pads. Super expensive, but was too curious about them and gave in and bought several.

I like B&S bc that backing plate Velcro holds on tight. I felt like I was gonna rip a lc ht in half.

I'm using Buff and Shine Microfiber pads. They're really awesome.

I also used Buff and Shine Black and Red pads. The black pads I haven't been able to get good finish so I'm still trying to find out why
