Pads for standard backing plate on a 3401

I have just brought a Flex 3401 which will arrive in a couple of weeks :xyxthumbs:

The question I have is will the standard backing plate that comes with the 3401 fit the Meguiars Soft Buff 6.5 Inch Foam Pads ?

If not what size backing plate do I need to get and is it worth while buying the FLEX Changeable Backing Plate System

Just checked and the 6.5" Meguiar's Soft Buff pads fit perfectly on the 5.5" stock backing plate on the Flex 3401

The 7" Soft Buff washable pads also fit nicely.

My Flex Flex turned up which is way cool
My issue is that the backing plate that came with it is 5.5" but the valcro on a Meguiar's soft buff pad w8006 seems to be only 5" so it overhangs and that would cause the backing plate to cut into the pad

It fits perfect on the Meguiar's Solo Diamond Foam Finishing and Polishing pad

What size backing plate do I need ???
