Hello everyone,
Ive been lurking on this forum for a while now and have started accumulating my detailing knowledge from here, which is still basic at best.
Unfortunately my first post wont be a positive one. My car was in a bit of an accident ( lost a mirror -> mirror broke -> the pieces scratched the paint).
The main area affected is directly under the mirror and then spreads in a couple of small chips through the side of the car. Only about 2-3 are not actually on the door.
Now my insurer wants to paint the whole of the side of the car. I was mortified. As I more or less consider this forum the grail of detailing I would like to ask for your opinion on whether these chips can be filled in with touch up. So far im leaning towards having just the door repainted and have the side swipe taken care of by my detailer + the 2-3 chips on the cars body.
Apologies for the horror show.

The paint is BMW X10 Tanzanite Blue. Its a dark blue with extremely deep flakes. Also it has cquartz uk applied.
Thanks in advance for your answers.
