First a little background and what I'm trying to acheive. I drive a oxfrod white 2012 F150 crew cab and I'm looking for a good paint cleaner and sealant that lasts. I work at an oil refinery and the truck sits outside 24/7 so it's subjected to alot of industrial fall out. If I wash the truck on Sunday, and go to work on Monday it'll be covered an a layer of dust/cooling water tower mist/catylist & striped sour water from the Belco....needless to say when it's time to knock off on Monday my nice and clean truck is pretty dirty. And it really shows in the white paint. So I'm looking for a really good paint cleaner and then a good sealant to top it with. I have some light swirls on the hood that I need to take care of first but the rest is clean. It'll prob benifit from a good iron-x'ing too. I have a coat of xmt360 topped with coly845 on it now and that lasted about a month.

I've been thinking about trying Rejex for the sealant, but I'm clueless about the paint cleaner. I don't really have any brand loyalty, just as long as it's reasonably priced. There are so many different products out there I can't make up my mind...and the longer I think about it the more my poor truck is getting trashed. Feed back please

You may want to look into using Opti Coat on your truck. It will last longer then any sealant.

These paint cleaners work nicely when used on a white foam pad on your dual action polisher on speed 4...

SONAX pre-wax cleaner

PRIMA Amigo

Four Star Ultimate Paint Cleaner

Wipe On and Walk Away Sealants (Clear)

Traditional Sealants
(Haze and Buff)

If you mean "stripped" sour water mist settling on your vehicle every day then you are talking about highly acidic water.

Your best bet would be synthetics rather than carnaubas.

Try the Blackfire line.... Total Polish & Seal topped with Blackfire West Diamond. Buy a couple of samples, test it on your hood and see how long it lasts.

Another line would be Wolfgang... Paintwork Polish Enhancer topped with Deep Gloss Paint Sealant.

I would also consider Opti-coat but the problem there is you will need a month for it to cure completely. You would need to have the vehicle away from that type of abuse for awhile. Then again, I don't make the product so a call to them may be beneficial.

I looked into that, but I don't know if I feel comforatble enough applying it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've been looking more at Optimum's line of products...I['m guessing sticking with one brand would help with the duribility? Looking at Optimum hyper polish spray then topped with poli-seal or opti-seal?

I don't know what's floating around out here, but I think a majority of it is a fine mist from the cooling water towers...and a bunch of dust/sand.

I was leaning more towards the synthetics, which is why I was originally thinking rejex. I don't mind having to reapply every 5-6 months, but I would like it to last longer than a month.

Optimum Car Wax indicates it resists acid rain. How much? Only Optimum would know relative to your situation. I also forgot about Collinite 476.

And maybe ammo skin which I know can withstand bleach

I was gonna say Ammo Skin or Optiguard. The Vid of Larry talking about that Merc protected by Ammoskin was pretty impressive!!

Lets say I was going to use DG#501 to clean the paint, would I use that before or after I use a swirl remover on the hood?

I've also been researching the werkstat combo of prime and trigger that is supposed to be pretty good on white cars.
