Today I started a project correcting the paint on a ford woody.
The paint is not original but it is single stage so it is an older reprint and severely neglected. Also chipped, scratched, rough areas, and sever water spots. So it will never be perfect.
Here is a picture of before

The steps I took is correction:
1) #7 all the paint
2) Compound with an orange foam pad
3) Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover with a black foam pad
4) Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish
5) Pinnacle Carnuba paste was by hand

The polisher I used for all of this was the Flex 3401

Any critiques on my process?
Anything you think could have made it better?

I will be tackling the rest tomorrow I we post more pictures when I am done.

looks good to me dude !! thou Wayne was telling me that we should actually sand it down then buff it ... IDK ...its going to be an interesting job for sure..

Very good! It's nice to see you posting here together with those beautiful cars you deal on F40.

Your process is great, and your selection of products seems adequate to me.

If I had to let you a suggestion, it'll not be detailing related, but forum related.

When you're going to place pictures on a thread, do the following:

- Copy the image address to clipboard (generally CTRL+C)

- Type (without underlines _ )

[_IMG_]paste image link here[_/IMG_]

**Remember, don't use underlines. I just used because if I type the code without underline it'll not show properly here.

Thanks for the advice. This is my first post. I am still trying to figure this out

Don't worry, it's just to help you get in.

You can do that in many other ways, example: on your album, open the pictures you'll add in separated tabs. Then you scroll down the image page (just bellow image) you'll find the link, with the IMG thing ready to be copy & pasted.

----------

Please, using #7, can you describe how you did it? How long did you let it sit?

Have you done adv. finishing polish on what pad?

Thanks in advance.

The #7 I applied by hand with a microfiber pad we have. Not sure exactly what it is by name.
I let it sit for only about an hour because I wanted to get started polishing but it could sit longer than that.
And for advanced polish I used a firm white foam pad. Sorry I forgot to put that

Good to know I wasn't really sure how long it should sit

Wow that is really cool. I definitely do. It is invaluable experience. I put in all the time I can in between school. Ever since I was little I have wanted to own my own business and as soon as I started at F40 I knew I wanted it to be in the automotive industry so we will see what the future brings.
May I ask what your name is?

God I love the Ford Woody's.

I am so jealous of you guys working for Wayne. I don't have cable at my appt. at school, but when I go home, the only channel I watch is Velocity and catch every Chasing Classic Cars episode I can. My Dad and I want to come up and visit the shop if we're in the area. Are you guys cool about people just coming and looking, or is that frowned upon?

Keep up the great work! As a 20 year old, I would drop out of school to work for F40.

There are always people walking around looking, so of course stop by and take a look around if you are near by. Wayne loves meeting his fans if he is there and has a chance to
Haha don't go dropping out of school man. I work at f40 everyday after school. That is an awesome benefit about working for Wayne he is always willing to work around my schedule and says school is the most important thing.

I have a series of articles non how to upload your pictures to the gallery here on AutogeekOnline so you can "insert" the pictures instead of attach tiny thumbnails.

Your co-worker Marius read my articles and nailed it so I'm sure he can share with you how to do it.

Below are my article just the same. Each article has pictures, that is screenshots that show you what to click on or what to do to make the magic happen.

From a guy that's been posting pictures to forums for at least 12 years now I'm here to tell you that if you think you're going to be sharing your work on ANY discussion forum over the long run then it's worth the time and effort to self-educate yourself on how to work with pictures the correct way on discussion forums.

Attaching an image is lame so don't be lame. And you can always call me when you're behind your computer and I will be happy to walk you through the process. Once you do this a couple of times it will all makes sense.

It's really not that hard, I routinely insert over 100 pictures for most of our car projects here at AGO and I had to teach myself how to do this as there were no articles on this topic when I first entered the forum world.

Awesome thank you for the articles Mike. And yes Marius showed me today how to do it. I am just having trouble finding a program for sizing the images. EZ Thumbnails wasn't downloading right. I have a Macbook I don't know if that makes a difference.
Anyone out there have a Mac? What do you use? Just looking for a free download. Nothing fancy or special. Just to size my pictures. Thanks in advance
