Paint gauges.

Here it is. It’s $18 bucks now.

Found one for $1.11 cheaper
✌️🤓✌️

My eyeballs 👀
Have been polishing paint on a daily basis for almost 50 years.
I've only burned through twice.
Both of those were on the edge. When you get close to the edge lighten up on the pressure.
It's alot harder than some would want you to believe to burn through your clear coat

Yep I did the same thing I burned the paint twice on my own vehicle and a clients vehicle long time ago and I’ll never let that happen again I found out one thing paint is never perfect and don’t try to make it that way…

Cool, you found a listing that for sure includes the calibration strips. I had found a couple listings that were cheaper priced but didn’t definitively show or mention whether the test strips were included and there’s no point in getting the gauge without the strips.

Thanks for the heads up
I would've never known about the strips
Might need you to walk me through the set-up

Any idea where to get a holster??

I can’t exactly remember the process off the top of my head, but I can tell you that it’s so simple that it only takes about 30 seconds for it to make sense like it’s almost self explanatory…

And the cool part is the simple way it calibrates also ties into how convincing it is that it can’t possibly give incorrect readings.
At least that’s how I see it.

I consider these gauges similar to a sun dial, as long as it’s calibrated it pretty much can’t be wrong. That’s why I’ve never seen the need to pay more when even the cheap ones are accurate.

Another cool thing is being able to know for certain whether a part of a vehicle has been repainted. We can usually tell just by looking at a panel, but there’s times when they do such a good job that even we wouldn’t be able to tell just off a quick glance, but there’s no fooling the gauge because the readings will be very different on a resprayed panel.

I was joking about the holster. Lol.

But back in my 20’s I did have a leather Zippo holster that I would normally have clipped onto my belt. I haven’t seen it in years, maybe it’s somewhere in drawer right now. It wouldn’t fit but that’s what it reminded me of when I thought of having a holster for it. Lol.

A leather zippo holster?!?!?

Now you've got me wanting to start back smoking cigarettes 🤔
