Hey guys,

I'm a weekend warrior detailer. I recently treated myself to a paint meter gauge, Positest DFC. I have compounded my car, Audi S5, twice before with little cut occurring due to the hardness of my car's paint. I took reading all over the car and it ranged from 167 microns to 216 microns. Reading threads around paint meter gauges and how to determine if you have enough paint to compound, people often recommended taking readings from inside the door sill and deducting the reading as it has the least amount of clear. Thus, I measured the inside of my door and it reads 125 microns which leaves me with around 40 - 100 microns based on my readings around the car. Is this sufficient amount of clear to perform a 2 stage paint correction?

Perhaps wrong section of the forum? Any help greatly appreciated guys...

You're good to go. How aggressive are you planning on getting as that will make a big difference too.

Seems like plenty, but as always, use the least aggressive method first.

Thank you guys for the responses!!! The clear is very hard, a-typical of audi clear i believe, however as a rule (or detailers code of conduct) I always go least aggressive first.
