Paint Protection Film

The Clear Bra Paint Protection Film,is it any good at protecting bumpers,does it last,peel etc?And lastly will the chemicals we use for detailing affect it?Feed back please

It provides decent protection, at least diminishing damage from rocks and debris. If properly applied, it will not peel. As for lasting, if you treat it the same as your paint, it will last as long. I installed my own to a rather curvy front end, Mazda CX-7, and although it isn't perfect, it is pretty good. If you decide to do it yourself, be very patient and try a few less complex spots first.

Overall, I would recommend it to owners in areas with rocks/debris on the roads.

We have it on virtually every car we own. It's a godsend on highway drives, protecting from rock chips. I've not had any peeling problems.

I'd suggest having it installed by a pro. Considering a repaint of the front end would be $3-4K. spending $300-500 for a pro install is money well spent.

I have it on the Murcielago nose and around the wheel wells and fenders, saves from rock chips etc. Well worth the investment

Works great.Just need to find a expert installer and ask for references before you use who ever you chose.It is very pricey but well worth it for sure we install it on a good percentage of our Jaguars.

Thanks for the replies .I'm planning to order a new car soon and I"m primarily concerned with those rock chips on the bumpers although I'm sure I"II end up with it on other places mirrors etc also,and trust me I know my limitations and have no interest in attempting to "Think I can"and install it myself.I just had a image of film peeling off,wax getting stuck underneath it.

I have it on my Avanti and it does a great job. A 3M installation instructor did the job as it needed a custom fit since no factory template exists. He covered the front end, the facing of the bumper and the headlights.

I've got it on the front clip of my S2000, as well as the front mirrors. Holds up great to stone chips (you can see where stones hit, but the residue just wipes right off) and bug guts. So far I'm impressed and will definitely get a new one put on when this one reaches the end of its life.

I polished the swirls out of mine using Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover with an orange light cutting pad / Flex 3401, and finished with Meguiar's #205 and a white polishing pad with good results. :xyxthumbs:

Never discolored and saved my car's front end from damage that most certainly would have required a repaint.
