Do new cars require the 2-3 month waiting period for paint curing before you can apply something like Opti-Seal to the paint?

It all depends on when your vehicle was built, sometimes vehicles sit on lots months almost a year before begin in its owner's possession while others go straight from factory to its owner's that said you could always look in the door jam of your vehicle if its a 2016 model and built in February then you can always apply wax till may as a precaution and or apply coating before the serious heat depending upon your climate ....... Just some suggestions

I actually Had the same question.
I know mine did not sit on a lot because i special ordered it november 11 and just got it last week. so would also like to know if i can use a sealant or wax right now. Any input with good facts regarding this would be appreciated. thanks

It was built in February. The waiting period logic has been around for quite some time, but paint technology has obviously changed as well so I just wasn't sure if the logic was still applicable.

A few months ago I was in the service center for an exotic car dealership. They were the "delivery" site for a guy who bought a LaFerrari directly from Ferrari in Italy. Yeah - if you've got $1.4 million to spend on a car, this ones for you. Upon receiving the car, the service center went right to work polishing and sealing the paint. Another fun fact - the battery charger costs $10k and it's not included in the price of the car.

That is crazy, 10k for a battery charger. It is all relative, 10k to a Ferrari owner is like a set of $100 floor mats to me and the average guy.

I sealed (BFWD) our work explorer 6 weeks after it was built according to the build date on the door. The explorer had one of the worst defects in the paint I've ever seen from the factory. Appeared like a fingerprint on the metal that transferred Through the layers of paint. Black explorer with a yellowish tinted finger print on the hood. Awesome!

I would clay bar it before sealing or waxing. Sitting on the lot can contaminate and also shipping by rail can get rail dust imbedded in the paint.
