Paint Sealant for Glacier White car

If you decide to go the coating route go with Gloss Coat. It's very easy to use.

There have already been some good suggestions on sealants.
 
View attachment 49333OP -- just to get you up to speed... You will read here about "sealers" and "coatings". Two different things. Sealers will sometimes last 6-12 months and coatings will last 2+ years. These time ranges are very general and just meant to "sum it up" for the purpose of description. Coatings are newer technology and I'd recommend reading about them here and asking any questions you might have. It sounds like a coating might be a good option for you.

To be clear-- the coatings discussed here are NOT the same thing the dealers might call a "coating". They are most likely referring to a sealer- and there are much better options available to you here than what they are trying to sell.

Two of my favorite sealers are Menzerna Powerlock (now Jescar Powerlock) and Duragloss 111/601 (mixed). Both have great longevity, are easy to apply, and look great. I recently tried the Duragloss for the first time and am very pleased (pictured). Incredible gloss/shine and the longevity is outlasting anything I've used before.
 
I have an Audi Q5 3.0 Glacier White. If sealant is your protection of choice, my vote is for Menzerna Powerlock. Leaves a nice glassy finish and lasts for 6 months easy.

This is ofcourse if you want a sealant (easy, quick) vs. coating. Ive been using sealants for 2years and I am now looking at coatings, but this is ofcourse a different ballgame.

I would do a coating every 12-18 months. Some sealants drop off quick on certain conditions and vehicles it seems. you have to consider your maint plan afterwords as well. If you do a coating I suggest if you want to hose wash your car to use carpro reset. Rinseless I would use d114 by meguairs, Wolfgang uber is great as well but will take on the beading characteristics of that temp after using it, which isn't a terrible thing but it's not a coating.

On the flip side if you like to wash your car traditionally with a hose you could always use one of the spray on, rinse off sealant/coating deals, Hydro2 by carpro is what they sell here, there are a few others out on the market too, but you will have to use it more often, like every 3 months, it is pretty darn painless though. And every nook and cranny is protected.

Not that I know of. Have not had that problem, and I always wax after removing the tape.

If I remember correctly the product would need some time of cleaner in it to stain trim.
 
While you are at it,don't forget the exterior glass. Once you get water spots on the glass,it can be a chore to remove. Hit it with something when new & reapply as needed. You will be glad you did! My 2005 tundra has no spots on any glass. I did the glass the day I picked it up from dealer & highly recommend it. They sell Aquapel here & it seems to last 6-7 months for me.

Window coating is something I was going to look at next if the sealant I was originally looking at couldn't we used on it.
 
IMO you can't beat FK1000p for looks on a light colored car, self cleaning, protection from bug/bird bomb etching, durability and price.

Put on two thin coats last July (48 hours apart) then a third in October and it's still going strong. Don't have to worry about etching and after a heavy rain car looks almost like it's been washed.

Works great on wheels and glass also.
 
I like Collinite 845 on my white truck. It's very glossy and reflective.
 
I used to use jetseal, and like most people mentioned, it doesn't seem to last that long. I like wolfgang deep gloss sealant a lot better. I think it actually lasts a lot longer than people think. It doesn't just evaporate off. It has to wear off, and the more you wash it, the faster it'll wear. I did a good polish and put the wolfgang sealant on my gf's car, and kind of neglected it after that. I think I wiped it down once with wolfgang detail spritz sometime a few weeks after. Over a year later, after a hard rain, she happened to mentioned her car looks like it just got detailed. I looked at it and it actually did look pretty damn good. It was on an 08 Galant, and after a Colorado winter.

^^ this man converted me. been two rainy drives and two washes and the FK1000 feels and acts like I just put it on. doesn't seemed to have been phased one single bit and it's been sunny here too so my black car has cooked outside with it. long term testing coming up as I'll be putting about 6 or 7 LSPs to a test on my wifes van.
