I thought the same thing about aluminum but the metal that came with it appears to be aluminum a magnetic will not stick to it so I don’t know what to think

The new Ford trucks are aluminum. So it doesn't work on anything but steel panels then?

The metal panel it came with appears to be 304#4 stainless steel, which is non magnetic.

If the new Ford trucks are made of aluminum, I’d guess they’re made from 304 2B or something similar.

This likely explains why the paint on my brothers Ford truck feels a little different yet I couldn’t quite put my finger on it... Now it makes complete sense.

The paint quality is good but not as good as my brothers 2018 black Jeep Cherokee which feels more robust and just seems like there’s more paint on there. But at least it isn’t soft so can’t really complain.
