Mike, how to recognize whether a car has hard or soft paint, and what precautions when working cars with soft paint.

Here is a wrote mike did about the hard /soft paints. It all comes down to doing a test spot and finding out what steps you need to take. With hard paints you will find that through you test spot for swirls and scratches you would need something aggressive but with soft paints will you will that even a polishing and a polishing pad may mare the paint this needing something even less aggressive like a finishing pad.

This is why a test spot should always be done. You never know how the paint on a car may react.

Also from what I have learned: just because a BMW was made in point A does not mean that it is the same as the BMW at point B.

Even if they are the same year and model, (even color)

Point A and point B do differ (from my understanding)
