Pan the Organizer product line...let's discuss@

The gist of it was all the Thor companies are owned by the same guy (at least the same name and address are on all the business documents), and that a number of "content creators" that are reviewing products are allegedly being paid by Thor, but allegedly weren't stating that they were paid and that their content might therefore be biased.
I prefer the words that some companies have the same president. I am not sure that means they OWN the company.
It also noted that if someone is given free product, it requires a "paid promotion" label on youtube videos reviewing the product.

I noticed one recent video (forget where) that the person said explicitly that he purchased the product (a THOR sold brand) and that this was not a paid promotion so believe there is a response.

Thor seem to me to be the "new" AutoGeek like from back in the day.

Like AutoGeek did back in the day they are bringing in all the "new" flavor of the moment products and bringing in the talent to create content. From my perspective that are taking up the mantel of what AutoGeek use to do and incorporating all the newer social media stuff along with it. Many don't like it because it seems "shady" but in reality they are simply taking a system that worked and adding the new social media stuff that blurs the line between shilling, reviews, advertising...

While I would like to see some more upfront and honest disclosures about who and what is really the case; I don't think it will really happen willingly. All the "creators" want to look and fell important so instead of saying "I'm just an employee spokesperson and face of the brand." they are going to call themselves the owner and creator.

Even if someone looks at all that with favorable eyes, IMO those products still aren’t worthy of paying their asking price + what it costs to ship.

For example:
Meguiars Hyper Wash $30
Pan organizer wash $65
DIY Incredible suds $80-$100

I just don’t see what makes it worth more than double the cost no matter how you slice it. [And that’s not including shipping]

Thanks Bunky, I think Wolfstar used the term "owned", but you are more correct. I got the impression from the Thor rebuttal video that the gentleman listed on the business forms is a silent partner, but not the only investor, that at least some of the "Thors" have invested their own money as well, at least by their telling. I didn't watch the whole rebuttal video.

Ironic, isn't it? That maybe Autopia (and maybier Detail City?) started the genre, AutoGeek perfected it, and the new owners squandered that and the vacuum was filled by TRC and now Thor.

I agree with you for the most part.

What many seem to forget is that for years AG was one of the leaders in bringing in the flavor of the month and charging a premium. I still remember the $100 paste waxes.

But I can say that I am not necessarily planning on being a Thor customer unless they truly bring in or create something unique that I just can’t get anywhere else. There are so many option and places and stock or curate so many product lines.

These products are for brain dead muppets and lemmings....
The amount of fools that follow these assholes never ceases to amaze me...

Too bad we're so small

That said it's really simple...no THOR purchases! I went through Carzilla to try Katiba, plus I ordered other items while there

I know Spam is apart of THOR but especially, never him, DJ Kalid or whatever a Jamie the Kleener is

But, but…

What if I WANT to pay $86.30 to ship a $65.99 item?

That’s still absurd for a small foam cannon. It should be around $8 for me.

They’re probably saying we get a ‘discount’ somewhere and then bump the shipping to cover it.

But detailed image charges me $20 for anything I buy. So if I buy multiple things it’s usually still the same $20.

But. $86 isn’t worth it.

I hate THOR companies.

I have the sooprinse swivel snub gun. Its works fine for me. I'm not a heavy user. That foam cannon looks ALOT like my Bravex foam cannon. Different colours and bottle but the nozzle/cannon itself is the same. I get great foam with my Active first generation and a 1.1 orfice. I also run a 50 foot kobrajet. I can get shaving cream foam if i want.

Another super overrated process in detailing....

Exactly. All foam cannons are the same. There’s no breakthrough technology to be had in any of them. The only tweak I think that’s remotely possible is in the foam mesh screen filter, and how fancy can that really be from the next?

If anything, I’m sort of interested in getting one of these new ones that does away with the large bottle = no diluting needed. Just add straight car soap and it automatically meters out the foam. Have any of you guys tried these yet?

They can be had for as little as $20 bucks.

Hmm.. I’ll have to shop around and see if there’s a difference in quality between them. Or maybe wait till they get them right.
