This was a referral from a forum member. I love these cars and was fun working on this one. Owner didn't want a paint correction detail, just a wash, clay, and sealant in prep for a car show on VERY short notice. Later this spring a full correction will be carried out. The tires would take some time as they had many years of old dressing built up but were looking much better as did the rest of the car at the end of the day.

Nothing too crazy, just a cool ride looking a bit better now.

Old wax stripped off

Years of tire dressing on top of tire dressing made for some nasty tires. Stoner's Tarminator, cotton towels (thrown away after), and some good elbow grease helped get it looking proper again.

Two coats of Chemical Guys Blacklight was applied

Finished pics. Again, not a correction detail, so there are still plenty of swirls. Next time around the owner wants to remove them.

Thanks for looking!

Very unique & sexy car, no need for a correction to post a show & shine. Nice work man!

Such a gorgeous car!

Back in the day, a friend of mine had a 1972 Pantera in a frosted green color. I'd never seen a Pantera or for that mater even heard of one. His parents owned a furniture store so they were pretty well off and could afford cars like this.

If memory serves me correctly the Pantera was a mid engine design similar to the Ford GT's produced in 2005 to 2010. The engine was a 351 Cleveland which was a top performer in those days and produced well over 400hp...

Thanks for the writeup and photos!!

Nice job cleaning her up. I've never seen anyone post pics of tires with too much dressing build-up before. Interesting, I never would have guessed it was tire dressing that was making the tires look that way. I probably would have thought the tires were failing.

I had a friend in college with a Mustang that had a 351 Cleveland. He had it hopped up with a cam, intake, and exhaust, man what a motor! One of my favorite cars to drive. Torque everywhere.

Yup, imported from DeTomaso with a Ford engine put in...I'm sure if it was over 400hp that was gross, not net. I remember a yellow one in the Lincoln-Mercury showroom, looked a little out of place, however not any more than a GT in 2005, I guess.

Bobby, I love those too! My father has owned 2 over the years. Very fast, very fun, but not very sophisiticated. Our renowned hockey player Tim Horton (the one after whom the coffee shops are named) died in one. Their fatal flaw was the half shaft in the back would snap and take out the brake lines when it did. The Mangusta is also a nice car.

I had to see this post from my phone to see the pics. Boy, does that look sweet in red! I'd be looking very forward to doing the correction on it. You made it look great so far!! Thanks for sharing that beauty.

Wow! Awesome car and great job! Gotta love that red, and the license plate is awesome haha I guess that blacklight is really worth trying! .. also gotta love those 351c's!!!

Wow, what a beauty. That car is so gorgeous. What year is that car? Original paint? Nice work by the way mate.

Great work. How did you apply the Blacklight, machine or hand? Did you top it with anything, or just used BL as an AIO?

Horton's Doughnut Shops are awesome in Canada. Much better than our Dunkins'.
