Parking lot Wars

Taking up 2 spots can be very risky. You WILL piss off people and I've actually seen people bend antennas because of people doing that. I just park in the back of the lot and get a little exorcise. You make it into the store or whatever just a min. slower- no be deal to me. I also check my car for dings upon returning.

Sorry, I wasnt very clear on that, I meant in the back of the parking lot, and as stated earlier I try and straddle the line, just in case someone does end up that far out. I guess it still could be a risk though.

Never go anywhere unless you have two friends with beaters that will go with you.

Park your car, get out, rotate your rear view mirrors in then have your friends park one inch away from your car.

Not only will this protect both sides of your car from other peoples cars, but by being so close to you nobody can attempt to run their carts between your car and the friends cars. They can't even walk between them.

Problem solved.

But, my question is: Has anyone actually left a business before entering just because the parking lot looks too jacked up? Like, say, the mall at Christmas time. Occasionally, I'll go someplace where the parking lot is just too populated with kids, SUVs, shopping carts, and other dangers. I'll say "forget this place"and go somewhere else. It happened to me yesterday at a busy WAWA (local convenience store). The parking lot had people parked all over in illegal spots and it was filled with kids and hung over people on Sunday morning. I just bailed and drove down the street to 7-11.

Yep, It appears that we are both pretty "weird". I think that I'll share this with my wife who says I am the only one who does this.

Tom

I ALWAYS choose a corner spot (less sides to get dinged on), typically at the back of the lot.

Parking in remote spaces does not always work. If your vehicle is nice enough it will draw attention and cause others to park close in order to gaze upon its beauty. On more than one occasion I have parked in a completely empty lot only to come out and find that someone has parked in the next space with their beater.

It appears that Oldmodman has the only real solution for preventing people from parking and walking too close to your vehicle. I hate parking at college, kids longboard in between vehicles on the parking lot like it is their own personal slalom course.
