My favorite moron in the parking lot story was something that I encountered many years ago.
I got back early from lunch and was sitting in my old Ford Wagon reading when I saw another car cruising around looking for a space.
She found one, right next to a brand new convertible BMW and I knew the girl that owned it.
The cruising car tried to back into the space and carved a hole in the passenger door and caved in the whole passenger side pf the BMW.
So I kept an eye on her in case she decided to run. But she parked about three spaces farther away and looked around to see if anyone could have seen her hit the Beemer.
She spotted me but I was "not paying any attention to her" just reading. So when she made a big process of writing out a note and putting it under the Beemers windshield wiper I paid close attention.
I wrote down a description of her car, a description of the driver, the time and the license plate number. (even made sure that the plate on the front and rear were the same).
Then the woman very suspiciously got back in her car and left the lot. I got out of my car to go back to work but first I just had to read the note. It said "I hit your car". No further information.
So I left a note too. I said that I had all the info on the driver that hit your car and I was in Suite 1065
She was so happy to see all the info I had recorded, plus I offered to talk to the police when they came to take the accident report who actually did show up.
Since the damage was over 5K they considered it a major accident with hit and run. The woman driver was actually arrested and I testified at her trial. She was found responsible for all damages. Plus the charge of hit and run without injury.
These days nobody is ever responsible for anything.
