Passion to grow a detailing business

After sometime away from detailing...I have come to the conclusion i am passionate about detailing but more passionate about growing a detailing business.....One idea i have is to create a Highly branded detailing company that ONLY GOES after work in high rise buildings setting up detail shops in the parking garages...Have a friend who is a amazing salesman who i will be giving 10% ownership of the business and all he will do is sale the company to property mangers....Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this....I have about $20,000 to spend on branding our company from Brochures,Cards,dvds,presentation folders,Wrapped vehicles (Have vehicles already)...Looking to hire a industry leading consultant to help us grow...Ideas are golden to me so if you have one let me know....
 
I don't have any ideas, but if the detailing is secondary to growing a business, I wouldn't be using your services. At least that is how you have framed it.
 
Good idea. Just start out slow with the least overhead possible and invest slowly

There are details shops here in Seattle that do this exact same thing and are making great money at it. It's production work so if that's what your Looking todo then it's a great idea.
 
Just my opinion but the difference between a detailer and a businessman is the Businessman has figured out a way to duplicate himself so he can own a high end sports car instead of DREAMING of owning the car he is detailing.

I am neither a detailer or a businessman. :p

All I was saying is that if the goal is to be an entrepreneur, I wouldn't be interested in getting my car detailed by your company, because my interests are not your interests...that's the way your plan comes across. Think of it this way: McDonalds is huge. The French Laundry is not. I'd rather eat at the French Laundry (and I can' afford to eat there LOL)

I think it's great that you have big dreams though. I can't help you. My mind is too small. Good luck.
 
I worked as a valet parker at an upscale shopping mall in southern CA and a mobile detailer paired up with the valet service. How they did it was as the person went shopping they could chose to get their car cleaned at the same time. Valet driver would take the car to the parking garage where the detailers were set up. They got a TON of business but they also worked in volume. Their services started at $15 for a basic wash. I imagine they gave a cut of the money to the valet company.
 
I am a big Grant Cardone & Eric Thomas fan..These guys got me think about possibilty of building a detailing company that can be duplicated...Because for me duplcation is power and the key to wealth(Wealth isnt just money its time to me)Can I leave on vacation and come back and have more business than when I left That is my definition of wealth...
 
Have you checked out how many companies are doing something similar in Dallas? Check out the kind of services they offer,and what they look like, and what they do, what they are, who they target, what buildings they service, prices, types of cars, how long they've been in business.

What do you want to look like? What do you want your employees to look like? Sharp, clean cut, laid back, professional, hip, polos, button ups, t shirts, khakis, shirts, jeans? What kind of services do you want to offer? Wash, wash wax, shampooing, polishing, headlight restoration, full service, express service? What buildings are you planning to service and what kind of people work there? Are they young, modern, hip, older, middle age, super rich, professional, super affluent, young professional?

Is what you plan your business to look like any different than what's already out there around you? Are you better, cheaper, or different at all?

Have fun plotting your new business and building it. There's nothing like making a bunch of cash and there's nothing wrong with it. A lot of people including myself take things way too seriously especially when it's money related or business related etc. Just go with the flow and do what feels right, but almost contradictory to that, take your ego out of the business. Go with the flow and do what feels right for the business. If it's about making money, then make that money and don't worry about your ego or your detractors

Pretty rudimentary advice/thoughts/questions but it's all I got and I hope it helps somebody

One thing about doing on-site mobile car washing and detailing is handling waster water runoff.

I think most the guys doing this have switched to waterless washes and rinseless washes. The first thing to do is to find out what the laws and regulations are for your area. I know SoCal is very tight in this regard.

Go for it man. Boutique detailing is great but the quick and convenient market is huge.

I would personally love to operate a business like you are describing but my local market is way too small.

Yes sir have identified where i will be and the companies i am going after to get the buildings they have....We will pursue these parking garages till they tell us to go to hell or give us the business period....As Grant Cardone says "If you arent first your last"...

Thanks for answering Waterless is the way we will be going cuts all the mess out and opens alot of avenues for us.
 
dont waste your money, spend it wisely, do ALOT of research and have a positive mindset about everything
