I recently started using some paste waxes again. Application is by hand and after removal when in the sun you see wavy hologram images in certain spots. Like when you walk down the side of the car you catch it popping out at you at certain angles. I throughly wiped down the area and its still there. Is this because the product isnt completely removed? Or is this my microfiber leaving marks behind. Ive noticed this on 2 products. HD wax which I know is hard to remove to begin with. Also collinite 845 which I just bought and tested out a panel. I went back over one panel with the HD wax with some SRP and it seemed to remove the hologram type image. Any help I would appreciate, thanks

I get the same thing too when the wax is not buffed out completetly
To get rid of those kind of wax residue holograms I usually do a final pass with a completely clean micro fiber towel and in circular motion. For stubborn sports I also use a bit of quick detailer such as Pinnacle Crystal Mist.

yeah I always go over the car with a clean micro after all wax has been removed. My dad even had the car washed and the marks are still there.

Autoglym HD Wax is indeed hard to buff nicely. Make sure you go very thin when applying. If you have a garage let the car sit overnight then next day go over the car with a quick detailer such as Pinnacle Crystal Mist. If you don't have a garage and you want an instant nice buff then I would buff the car, let sit for 1 hour then do a quick detail to get an even gloss all over. That should do the trick. It could also be that you use towels that don't have enough "grip" and are too soft. If you use 70/30 towels you might want to try 75/25 or 80/20
But I was successful in getting a nice shine with no wax leftovers holograms with 70/30 towels with a bit of detailer.

I have Autoglym HD wax. it is not the easiest wax to use.
Are you applying the wax thin enough?
How thin is thin? well I have a silver car (profile pic) and it is hardly visible thin layer of wax. if I see where I apply the wax, then i am applying too much!
Autoglym stated that their wax has to be applied with a damp applicator. If water is not enough, you may consider to dampen your foam app with quick detailer like Last Touch or Final Inspection. I do not notice any negative impact on durability of my wax and sealants but QD prevents rubbing a dry foam on paint, helps me to spread wax super thin and things become much easier to remove with QD.
