Paul Daltons Chemicals

I think Paul is brilliant, there are just many people out there that are envious that he was smart enough in the marketing aspect of detailing to get people to pay that much for a detail. I give him all the credit, yea there maybe some better detailers out there but no one has the clients or the income that he has... so those who are envious and complain about the hype and attention that Paul gets should watch closely and learn something from the way he markets himself "AS THE BEST"!

Its all in the presentation, he sells the value of his work. Its just like my service writers, car comes in with a no start and just put replaced battery with no desciption why it was the battery there is no value in the price that was charged for the repairs.

How difficult is it to detail a brand new car? Mr. Dalton is a smart guy, has made a name for himself and is, I'm sure, a great detailer. Does every detailer though need to use his products, take readings of paint and then load it up into a computer, do a spread sheet, call NASA and make sure the planets are in their proper axis in order to properly detail a brand new car? Eh, I don't think so. It's called "hype" or "marketing" and he has done it to a "T". Kudos to him. It's not like wearing the shoes Jordan wears is going to make you like him, dunk like him and fly like him nor will using Pauls products make you a candidate to detail a Bugatti for $3,000.00. How many details do you all think he gets for that price? Well it's not a daily thing I can assure you all. Carve your own path, find your own niche, market it and exploit it. Anthony

Has anyone here used or have the Dodo Wax? I was thinking of having my parents bring me some since they live in the UK...

I think you hit the nail on the head Anthony, very well put.

My niche/market is to detail cars for $100-$150 on Saturday mornings for my friends and collegues. DONE!

It's good that Paul admits that you don't need the expensive products to do a great detail, and that you don't need the very expensive wax. There's always someone better though, and I wonder who that person is.
