PC 7424XP 3" Backing Plate?

Howdy Geeks! I am about to purchase a PC 7424XP. I have been doing some homework and I was just wondering... Would it be "beneficial" to purchase a 3" backing plate for it or just purchase a GG 3" polisher? I think that it would be easier to have 2 separate polishers, however, i'm limited on $$$. Thanks for any advice.

I use my 3" back plate all the time.... Not impressed with the 3" Griots!

I'll have to try it out. I was thinking that it wouldn't hurt anything. But it's always better to be safe. Thanks.
