How many of you guys lubricate you Porter Cable DA polishers? Is it necessary? How difficult is it to do by yourself? How often needs to be done? What is being used for proper lubrication?(obviously not a clay lube:D ).

Not very easy to lube and I don't think the factory would tell you to lube it.
That being said for some reason I took mine apart
You have to remove the plastic cover to get to the gear head.
It has grease around the gears and I just moved it around so it was I better contact with the gears or whatever was under the cover.
No difference but it made me feel better :righton:

Porter Cable recommends yearly lubrication for machines used commercially. I think for others, it's just good to get it done every 3 to 4 years at the qualified service center for PC.

Take it to local Home Depot or Lowes?

My 7424 manual states states the following:

This Tool has been lubricated with a sufficient amount of high grade lubricant for the life of the unit under normal operations conditions. No Futher Lubication is necessary.
