PC or Cyclo?

Hey Folks,

I would like to know which one of the two you must like. The PC or Cyclo? At this time, I use a PC. I have news that the Cyclo is better and easier to use. I did hear some things how the Cyclo is hard to use on lower parts of vehicles due to its weight.

Please advise me what you wish to use. The weather were I live is HOT, HUMID, windy and sunny. Until I get my business up and running. I work on vehicles under a canopy on in a garage. Doing work on a garage is kinda a pain in the you know what. It's a 2 car garage BUT, one half is loaded up with things that are never disposed of. ugh.

I have used both an the cyclo is nowhere near as good as the PC, IMHO.

Wow i'am surprised at that.But if you want to buy something new and user freindly go with the Flex you will get alot more correction using that then a Pc or cyclo IMHO

:iagree::whs:Get some 4" pads for your pc for tight areas and use the pc for waxing/sealants, carpet cleaning.

Okay, is the Flex speed controlled by your finger OR are you able to set the speed where you want it like the PC? Since my trigger finger is busted, I need something that the speed can be set on.

I think with the release and pricing of the Flex, the Cyclo has kinda been lost. Before that it had alot to offer and only a couple minor issues. One was no speed adjustibility. It would be cool if they released an updated speed sensitive Cyclo with the smaller dual heads, talk about a win-win.

But how do you control the speed of the Flex? Is it controlled by holding it with one finger OR are you able to lock in a speed that you choose without holding anything?

I have a Cyclo and love it. The Cyclo is US made, built to last, has very little vibration and can correct many paint problems. That said, I can see where the PC would be nice in smaller areas and many people can do pretty impressive corrections with them. The Flex is more expensive than a PC but apparently is more powerful, thus increasing its effectiveness. As you can see from earlier posts, everyone has their favorites/opinions. Either way a machine is much more efficient than by hand for paint correction.

there is a dial to lock in the maximum orbits. Also the trigger is speed sensitive so you can pull/release as wanted and somewhat control the unit also.

This is why I can not use a buffer that is controlled by a finger. The main finger on my right hand is not able to control a power trigger. My car wreck in 2001 caused that issue.

See. If I'm not able to lock in the speed on a Flex, then, I will have to continue with the PC OR get a Cyclo.

The Cyclo just doesn't have the same cutting ability at the PC7424, at least when I used the Cyclo. Since those days I have moved on and only use a rotary.

I find the exact opposite which is why I use a Cyclo 95% of the time. Both machines have their place, I'm glad to have both.

whats the vibration like on the Flex? I retired my PC because it makes my hands go compleatly numb after only a few minuts, I worry about getting permanet nerve damage.

Don't forget the trigger lock on the Flex. If you are worried about fatigue the lock is easy to initiate and release. Lets you focus on your work.

Yes, the Flex has an adjustable max speed dial, a variable speed trigger and a trigger lock. Very convenient! :righton:
