PC questions b4 using tomorrow...

Well i got my new PC (the second one) and tomorrow i will be giving it another try...either on my little bro's truck or on my car...not sure which of the two...and each have their advantages and disadvantages...

Any, i just wanted to make sure of a few things b4 use b/c i dont want this one to break down like the last one did...

My biggest concern is the pressure i put on the machine so i am actually planning to either only allowing the pressure in which the machine creates or i will add pressure by simply putting my hand on the top ot the PC (without pushing down)...does this sound ok?

I know about the 5 minutes and using a timer and doing a 2x2 section...and starting with a lighter polish and pad rather then using the toughest stuff i've got from the start...

But again my biggest concern is the pressure and i just want to make sure that my plan of action as far as the pressure goes is ok...

I have found that applying too much pressure really isn't worth it. I have removed many bad blemishes from paint finishes by applying, at the most, 10 to 15 lbs. of pressure for bad areas. The weight of the PC with a very slight amount of pressure does it for me. Just make sure you work the area until the product breaks down.
 
Sounds like a ide, start by doing that, and youll find your way using the PC after a few panels.

Sometimes i give my PC a hard workout, ive never had an problems with it, but i never run it a long time with heavy pushing.

The weight of your hand may do well in the start, and as said you quickly get the weight/moving combo right.

I do understand your concern, i would have been pretty "easy" on the PC myself if what happend to you had happend to me when i got the PC.
 
if you have a bathroom scale you can put the pc on it and push down will give you a better idea of 10-15lbs.
 
If you start with your bother's car you have less to worry about. Just kidding. It's hard to mess a car up with a PC.
 
i know its hard to mess up a car when using the PC haha, but i just want to make sure that atleast if im doing my own car i actually do a good job with it haha!

Make a mark on the backing plate (or use a piece of tape if you don't want to mark your backing plate), so you can see how fast it is actually spinning. Press down hard enough so that it revolves around 1 to 3 times per second. That's just a ballpark, but easier for you to judge than pressure.
