Ok, finished compounding with OC and yellow pad, hazing, Proceeded with orange pad and Opt polish, used much less product this time! Many questions, so I'll number them and if you can help with one or a few or tell me to get a life, anything will be appreciated!:D
1. I know use little product, after the first dosing, I simply added a few drops here and there, still my second pad was fairly caked.
2. I don;t think I ever saw a dry end product as I was polsihing, if so very little, but the polishing sure cleared up the haze!
3. Damn, do I have to use it on 5 or 6, my friggin arms and wrists hurt!
4. My biggest concern now is, I see lots of scratches and thingies that I never saw before, this normal?
4b. If so, will my next stages help fill thsoe scratches? I think soem of it is due to the fact I am using a 1000w halo light to see.
5. I got splatter (tiny particles) allover my car. Do I wash it now or wait until after another step?
Here it's guranteed to confuse everyone!
6. What is my next step, cleaner or VM? Here's my "maybe" plan: Vanilla Moose w/ blue pad. Followed with paint cleaner and white pad. Or does the VM go after a cleaner? Do I need a cleaner in here anywhere? Pad choice right?
7. Or would this be better than #6 step? Remember wanna cover up these friggin blemishes! Mez final polish blue pad, followed by cleaner w/ white pad?
8. I know now, if I opt for VM, I can only add lsp carnuba after that. No matter what, I am lsp'ing with spit shinign coats of nuba!9.
When should I wash and take care of all the splatetr on my trim and windows? Use AIO for this or my paint cleaner, if indeed you tell me to use a paint cleaner.
See, told ya I would confuse and bewilder all that read! Guess I'll take what you tell me, chew it up and throw it together tomorrow!:righton:
Holy cow, I thought I had it all down! I honestly have stidied thsi stuff for a good week, read and looked at everything I could, but all that went out the window after actually trying it!
Thanks so much everyone!
Yours in pain, I mean detailing.
Scott
p.s with my normal garage lighting, it looks pretty shiny!

Well, wnet and looked under the halo light again, saw some dust, well guess it wasn't dist on the hood, musta been splatter, tried wiping a spot with my hand, mistake! Now that acted like sand and scratched that area all over! So, what to remove thsi with, mf and spray and gloss, leave it let next step take it off?

1. I've never used Optimum but they say a little goes a long way. Maybe you still are using too much product?
2. The product may never get clear if you aren't using the PC at high enough speeds. Were you using 6 at this time, or still 5?
3. Use 5 or 6 to get any/best results. Don't worry, you will get used to the vibrations. My hands hurt after like 5-10 minutes @ 6 the first few times I used it. Now I can use it all day (exxageration) without any uncomfort.
4. These scratches could be micromarring and can be defeated with a j-eweling type product if you have one.
5. You can clean up the splatter whenever you like. I personally would clean it up right away, just in case. You never know and it is better to be safe than sorry.
6. Now, cleaner do you mean like AIO or like a meguiar's step 1 paint cleaner? AIO should go on after you finish polishing, before the VM. Paint cleaner should have been done before polishing. AIO is only needed if you want. I say go for it, might as well have the cleanest surface possible before glazes/waxes/sealants.
7. Try using final polish as your j-eweler.
8. Clean the splatter on windows before you make everything look nice. You don't want to risk ruining your work.
9. You may want to take it off with some QD or maybe consider just washing it again if it is really bad.

Good luck and hopefully you post some pics man!

Well I have AIO and p21S or Opt paint cleaner. Think I should just AIO before the VM?
Remember jusy yesterday we were speaking of glazes.

Well, just j e w el polish, bue pad w/Menzerna final polish, looks great! I think I am going give a light/quick swipe wipe AIO, clean up my mess, Vanilla Moose white pad. See where I'm at, wash if necessary, follow w/UPP, then nuba.

Sounds good! In the beginning, it always takes A LOT longer than you expect. Good to see you aren't giving up. :D

Yes, very time consuimg, Upon further inspection, ther eis lots of splatter I didn't see. I am goign to use P21 cleaner and with the cheap whit epad that came witht eh pc and clean that up.
Just did the AIO, man I love AIO! Almost out, thus suign the P21 for the above cleanup.
