Hi guy, here in europe it's pretty hard to find porter cable products so i'm looking for a valid alternative available in my continent.

I was wondering, is the Meguiars G220 as good as the PC7424? How can i chose a valid polisher machine?

As far as I know you should be fine as it is a comparable machine backed by a solid company. It does have more power than a 7424

The Meguiars polisher should work well, the specs are pretty comparable

I have the american version,G100?, and it worked fine. Though mine broke Megs does have a lifetime warrenty and it sounds like they stand behind it. It worked well with the 5 inch pads at any speed and the carrying case is pretty sturdy.

What's about the Kestrel DAS-6 Dual Action Polisher?
It is cost 2/3 of G220.

New from Kestrel, this Dual Action Polisher offers all the featuers of the more expensive machines at an affordable price.

The machine comes supplied with a UK 240v plug, is fully CE marked and has the peace of mind of a 1 year manufacturers warranty.

Dual action polishers are very popular with car enthusiasts and professionals a like as they are low risk but give much better results than polishing by hand. With a powerful 500w motor it is possible to removes scratches and swirl marks when used in conjunction with a machine polish. It is also a perfect for applying glazes, sealants and waxes.

the griots machine is supposed to be about the same as well, is that available to you....

I consider them equal ... one has a bulletproof reputation (PC) and other has a bit more power but a newcomer (Megs). Can you find the Flex locally !!

iam buying the das-6 they are very popular in europe should be good

Gosh this happens all the time and I don't know if this is the case for this thread but the title says,

PC7424 vs Meguiar's G220

There's a huge difference between a PC 7424 and a PC 7424XP

It seems it's too easy for people to not type the last 2 letters XP to clearly define which tool they're referring to?

The XP model is dramatically better at keeping a pad rotating under pressure as compared to a first generation Porter Cable 7424 and 7336

Also, is the G220 you're referring to an actual G220 or is it the new G220v2 model as there's a difference there.

Point is, if you're purchasing a DA Polisher to remove swirls you want a 2nd generation DA Polisher because it will save you time for the simple reason that the newer 2nd generation DA Polishers rotate pads better under pressure it's when the pad is rotating that it is removing swirls.

See this article, while it doesn't reference the G220 it does reference the G110v2,

Interesting. I didn't know the PCXP has a bit more power than the G110v2. I thought it was the other way around.
