just got my pc 7424 light swril remover kit. i have a 2001 chevy silverado 4x4 z71 the kit only came with 1 orange 6.5" light cutting pad {ccs}.after two days of looking on differnt web sites i learned that to get best results you should ues a new pad every 2or3 section passes if i use the cleaning on the fly meathod will 1 pad be good to do the whole truck

As long as you clean your pad after doing about one large panel such as fender you can use the same pad.

If you try to use one pad for the entire work, you will be cleaning it a lot plus over time it will just not be as effective as a clean one. It can be done but you will not likely get optimum results.

If the truck has never been detailed before or a very long time, you may also just be getting the crud on the paint in the pad as well (pad will get dirty very quickly). You could preclean the paint using a paint cleaner to prep the paint to reduce this but then that is another step.

If did not want to order online, you can find a local PBE (paint / body shop) place locally that sells buffing pads. They will usually carry at least the Meg's pads.

If you are doing to invest the time, do it right and order a few pads for best results plus the orange pad may not give you the best results if that is what you finish with.

when i order the kit it came with; xmt fine swril remover #2 and 1 light cutting pad orange next xmt ultra fine swirl remover#1with 1 white polishing pad then after that xmt carnuba finishing glaze 2gray pads it also came with 2 red pads and before this i clayed the truck so i just order some more pads 6 of each. thanks for the info
