Mike,
After seeing your videos on the Flex PE14 I decided to order one and use it first on my GF's car like we spoke about earlier today. I learned so much from you when you taught the classes in Irvine (and still am learning) by watching your videos. I wish I would have had time to see the Flex plant in Steinheim when I was in Stuttgart, Germany! I will see Mike Stoops next week. Good luck and continued success at Autogeek.

Thank you for the kind words. The first 3-4 years of teaching classes at Meguiar's we held classes almost every Saturday until we had to put the brakes on and knock it down to 2 Saturdays a month and 2 TNOG's a month or I would have never had a life.

But it was a lot of fun and I had the opportunity to teach members of pretty much every car club in Southern California plus hundreds of car enthusiasts just wanting to learn how to machine polish and detail their own cars.

That was an opportunity of a life time and gave me a greater appreciation of how well built Flex power tools are. Bob Eichelberg shares one of the key strengths in this thread I created here when he visited Autogeek.

One of the things we did was one-by-one, turn each rotary buffer on, set the RPM to the lowest setting and then listen to each one as it was running.

Bob pointed out the lack of grinding noise with the Flex PE14, so I asked him why the difference?

He said the noise comes from the gears as they mesh together while the tool is running. The gears used in Flex power tools, (all their tools), are each hand ground by machine and then heat treated to strict tolerances. These extra steps,

• Reduce noise so the tool runs quieter
• Reduce wear-n-tear for increased working life

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm looking forward to getting this new Flex polisher. I hope that Autogeek forum members spread the word after seeing your tour of Flex in Germany. I'll be travelling to Stuttgart again in August and would love to see the Flex plant in Steinheim while I'm there. The quality of their products justifies the price and the outcome. Tools that last create lasting customers!

It's funny you ask that. I spoke to Suby of Flex Germany and Bob of Flex North America at Detail Fest about that. The numbers are simply what the German engineers came up with and they really have no significance to the end customer.

I don't know their normal protocol for tours but if you like I can ask. I made good friends with all of top management and the engineers and I would also call Bob and Suby good friends too...

No... we all were slowed down.... this year's Detail Fest was the biggest and best ever and I think I speak for everyone here at Autogeek that it took a day or two to decompress and catch our breath...
