.......must have some strong backs and legs! I worked on my ride for a few hours yesterday and I'm still sore. I had to stop sooner than I wanted to because the pain was so bad. I'm not all that old yet, I'm 33 but for me detailing is literally a back breaker. I have a friend who's son was a detailer and developed a bad back because of it.........I never understood that, till now. No real point to this thread, just making a statement.

Definately takes a toll on the body. Especially when getting the lower panels. Like Mike said one time to the extent of getting down to your works level. You find me laying down on my back and polishing or using my Racatac. The Racatac has saved my life.

im only 36. and have bad disc problems with my back. i belive its from landscaping for 20 years. its finnaly taking its toll on me.. what bothers me is now when cleaning my truck it is so painfull on my back . it takes me a while to clean my truck now .. something i trully love to do . is so painfull to do at times .. when i detail my truck i do the interior and wheels and wheel wells one day and then next day the rest... so its a 2 day process for me ..

Its like anything, the more you do it the more your body adjusts to it.

Try being 6'6" and doing a full correction on a Lamborghini that doesn't even come up to your waist.

My back problems stem more from football than anything. My left knee hurts all the time (got chop blocked real bad).

I'm only 20.

Starting my detailing career at 47, I was introduced to a pretty popular guy, Arthur Itis. My finger joints ache terribly some nights. The sore muscles in my back, arms and legs brought back some old memories of my athletic days. It sort of feels good to be sore (if it goes away). Makes me feel like I'm doing my body some good.

When I first started machine polishing.... my girlfriend had to massage my finger joints every single night in exchange for her foot rubs.... haah
