Perfecting my Car: Wetsanding to Remove Orange Peel, and Wheel Repair

Also, recalibrate your expectations. 90% correction is good enough for a daily driver, especially one that is 13 years old. If you try to remove every swirl, you start getting into dangerous territory with your clear coat. Learn to live with a few RIDS. The fine polishing is what really makes the car shine anyway.

The only thing i can add is that with the griots an PC you want to get thin pads, 5.5" is really where you want to be. Mark your backing plate, speed 6 do 6-8 passes, check your work after 4. If you are not getting the results you are satisfied with do a couple more passes. Apply enough pressure that you dont stop the pad from spinning and slow arm movement
