What is everyone using for photo hosting/3rd party hosting now that Photobucket is charging an arm and a leg for it?

I want to be able to continue to post up my pictures of reviews/details/etc and want to use a site that is easy to use.

I don't mind a small fee for storage/etc, I just want an easy interface, like Photobucket, to use.

Imgur seems to work well. I toyed around with it the other day fixing a write up on another car related forum.
 
I am trying out Postimage. But my PB still works so I have some time yet. The thing I don't like so far with postimage is it doesn't seem to like my full image but works fine if cropped some. Here is a sample to see if it works.

I guess I was wrong it just took a full res image. And has a nice little app for windows.

 
I use pbase.com. Have used them for years and enjoy them. Mainly for family pics but I'll likely begin using them for my details. Considering just using google too.

I just put the
after the url to get the larger size image to show embedded here on this forum. Without it the thumbnails show up which is nice but when I click on them they don't enlarge to the original size I've uploaded.

Thanks Bob. I do like how by clicking the thumb you can get to the full res image and all the little things the windows interface allows.

I've subscribed to this thread, hoping to see someone post the best permanent solution.

One thing I know for sure, nothing's free in this world. So when a company pops up and offers to let you upload your pictures to their server taking up their server space for free.... what's the catch?


Then down the road when the pictures disappear....

I should have listened back then but I was already paying for a premium membership and had lots of pics loaded. :bash:
 
I was using the AG forum to upload and store my pictures until the forum software was upgraded a year or so ago.

After the upgrade, I wasn't able to upload my pictures due to some software issues so I started using Photobucket since it was for free.

It looks like PB recently cracked down on 3rd party hosting and is now "charging an arm and a leg" for that option as Scott (Sizzle Chest) mentioned.

It looks like the forum software issues have been fixed so I've started using it again.

It's not so bad once you get the hang of it, maybe one or two more extra steps, but at least I know my images will not go away.
 
Flickr includes a free 1 Tb of storage... but it isn't as quick to share photos from as some other options out there. That is what I really liked about Photobucket... when the website worked.
 
I'm in process of moving my galleries. Not bad at all since I keep my files fairly organized on my computer. pbase.com allows for a simple upload of a .zip archive of the images and viola, back in business.

Keeping my Images in this Gallery. Not all my details but I'll load up at least 25-35 or so for now.
 
Thanks for the responses everyone. I had a paid subscription to PB...now they just want a LOT more money. Not worth it IMO. I'll find another site that has reasonable monthly/annual rates.

^^^ I use Google as well and don't recommend it. They make sharing the photos a pain in the butt. And I got feedback on a recent post that somebody couldn't see them, so I hosed them from Imgur. Not sure if it was a Google issue or an issue specific to that person. It took me far too long to get 4 pics posted here from Google. Took 2 minutes to do it from Imgur. (And I'm paying for my Google storage.)

I'll take a look at CTRLQ.org. Not crazy about having to use another site to make Google usable.
