We had a small snow squall and the roads were salted. Everyone's cars look horrible. It all melted and dried up today. Tomorrow temps are supposed to be 50 degrees. I sent out a text blast to my best customers that said:

"I'm washing cars tomorrow. If you'd like to get the salt off your vehicles, let me know. I will swing by wherever your vehicle is. Just doing hand washes and quick waxes."

I got 4 vehicle appointments for tomorrow; immediate replies to the text!

I was on the fence on whether to try this. Maybe people would think I was spamming them. Maybe no one will wash their car since it is only going to snow again next week. Maybe everyone is going to the Swirl Wash. But I was happy to find that people said things like "Sure. Thanks for letting me know!" and "OK come wash the Camaro."

Yeah, I had nothing else for tomorrow so I am pleasantly surprised. Packing up my trailer with buckets, towels, product, hose, pressure washer, etc. Will need to take at least 15 gallons of Rinseless solution, shampoo, a quart of Quik Wax, 2 cans of tire shine, and a quart of glass cleaner. Gonna be a good day!

And others will wonder why you succeed in business must just be lucky? Continue this attitude and you will retire happy.

Well done - smart thinking outside the box!! Sounds like a flash of good inspiration!

That's awesome .

Wow! What a day! Pictures to follow.

I ended up with 6 vehicles and $300 in the pocket! I also set up 3 appointments for cleaning polish and waxing jobs at $200 each!

47 minutes was my longest vehicle. By the end of the day I was finishing each vehicle in 30 minutes.

I used the awesome TransMate Tame Tiger Brake Dust Remover (No Touch) that I received as a sample at Mobile Tech Expo. Truly "no touch" wheel cleaner.

The 2014 F150, 2015 GMC Sierra and a 2016 Honda CRV (forgot to take pictures of it) all made appointments for clay, cleaning polish, and wax/sealant!

Nice work. Your per hour wage was a good rate and picked up additional business. Good for you.

Wow, that's quick, nicely done! Can you give a little more information about what all was included in the 30-45 minutes if you don't mind? Sounds like you did a waterless wash/dry, and tire shine. Did you do anything interior? Clean glass? Please tell me you didn't wax any during that time because that would make me feel slow as molasses in the dead of winter?

Here is what I did:

I had access to water.

Pressure wash spray rinse
Tame Tiger Brake Dust Remover on wheels- this is a no touch product
Chemical Guys Sticky Wheel Gel pre-rinse on tires

Quick brush of tires
No agitation of wheels

Pressure wash rinse wheels and tires

Pressure wash foam gun foaming with Meguiar's Deep CrystalCar Wash

Mitt wash with Meguiar's Deep CrystalCar Wash

Rinse with open hose

Dry with towel using 303 Quick Wax until I ran out, then Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax as a drying aid.

Only did glass if I accidentally sprayed Quik Wax on the glass.

Thanks for explaining! It sounds like you have a good system - I'll have to give it a try with what I've got for products. I've been trying to find a quicker, more efficient way to do a wash-only detail.

Thanks again!

No touch wheel cleaner is key. TransMate Tame Tiger or P & S are two truly no touch products. I would post a review but they are not Autogeek products, though I did get them at Mobile Tech Expo which Autogeek sponsored.

I hear you on that!! I'm surprised how much time wheels can add. I know it wouldn't have worked in today's situation but I spent almost 5 hours on some wheels today. I'll have to look into those for wash-onlys.

how long did it take from start to finish though? you have to figure in the time driving from place to place and setting up the pressure washer ect ect. i know its hard work washing cars. if you did all that in eight hours and you can still walk you did great
