I needed a car for general DD duties and something that had more than 2 seats. This fit the bill and got a hell of a deal on it.

2012 BMW 128i.

4,283 miles.

M-Sport Package, Heated Seats, No Sunroof, Manual Seats, 6-spd, California Emissions Motor.

Plan is to put a lot of miles in it, and eventually turn it into a track car.

Nice. :xyxthumbs:A true drivers car, sort of.

Still has power steering and isn't overloaded with electronics for damping, steering....etc.

I still like my Z for a drivers car :)

niceeeee, my project car is going to be an E30 or NA miata :) lol

Wow! If THAT Beauty is your DD I wonder what your Sunday driver is?????

Nice car. Is that Artic Silver? My old Z was that color. It's great for a DD color. It doesn't have the EPS (electronic power steering)? Either way, that car should give you years of trouble free driving.

Nice ride for sure but what's this Cali motor thing you speak of? Also, what's under the cover, M coupe?

Nice pick up on a DD.

Thank you.

To be honest, I never checked under the hood for the actual color code.

It is still power steering. It has 4 years of warranty and PO got an extended service plan: 6yrs 100,000 miles on service.

The Cali motor is a N51 motor (versus N52). It is stricter emissions motor, another set of cats...etc. The main difference is that the N51 has lower compression but a 3-stage DISA manifold. Makes same power.

There is a company called Evolve that was able to tune a 120i (european edition) N52 engine with a 3-stage DISA and gain +50HP and +40 ft/lbs of torque. There is still minimal information about how much you can tune a N51 but there is potential for some big gains since some people speculate that the N51 is detuned, much like the 120i

The car under the cover (and my weekend car) is here:

LSB on LSB...very interesting combo. I've only seen one like that and it was on autotrader.

Great driving car...I had a 08 128Ivert. Now I have a 2011 328 vert. The 128 was a lot more fun to drive.

I maybe getting a new daily driver too. My Pathfinder lost power on the highway yesterday and I'm stumped to the cause. I have an appointment at the dealer Monday, if its too costly to fix I may trade it in.

Now I'm daily driving my E85 M.

Good luck :/

I would DD the Z, but that clutch in traffic would be terrible.

@720: I drove a E90 and E92 and wasn't that impressed. Nice car and all, but bland, IMO
