All I had at the start of the detail was my cell camera, so they might not be the best. (only the first 2 pics were with cell) The car I did was a 2006 black Infiniti. It turns out that the car was severely neglected, and in need of a paint correction. Oxidation, contaminates, major swirls, bird poop etchings, scratches, and so on. What a car to start with!
So anyway, I proceed to wash, clay, and start with meg's ultimate compound (first time using it) with an orange pad. I then followed that with poorboys polish and sealant, (black pad) then topped off with mother's wax. To make a long detail short (I'm tired) it was a smashing success. It came out as good as one could hope. Of course some of the deep scratches couldn't be removed, but I de-swirled it effectively, and got rid of most of the bird poop etchings. What a shine!
The customer was extremely happy, and said it was more than he had hoped for. Plus, I got to charge almost double. ($175) Me very happy, but VERY tired. (9 hrs to do it) Now for the pics. Keep in mind it started raining towards the end of the detail, and had to take the pics from inside the carport.
If you look close, you can see the damage done by the bird bombs, and the finish is absolutely horrible.

It looks like a friggin mirror! And yes, the cowl and wiper blades did wind up getting the black treatment.
Man, was it a lot of hard work. I now have a true appreciation of what goes into it. Not bad for a first job, and only second time using my meg's DA. Who says I don't learn quick?
