Hi guys, I got fed up with fighting the 16x16 MF cobra towel when detailing my interior.

So, I cut my towel in 4 sqaures. THen I sewed the two sides, making two of these.

So what i got is a 8x8 MF pocket. It is amazing for the interiors, makes all the buttons and stuff super easy to clean and the steering wheel OMG.

So here are some pictures of them, as you see the big towel is a 16x16, then i have the glove which is like 7x7(trimmed an inch).

So what do you guys think? Also would anyone be interested in buying some of these from me? I was thinking aout make a bunch and selling them, makes me some money, also maybe the big companies will see it and start making them.

I also make some simple MF 8x8 towels (not pockets) and those worked good to.

The nice thing about these pockets, is you have 1 side to clean with, and 1 side to buff with.

I forgot to mention guys, that I can do this in any MF material. Because certain ones suite certain needs, like the lavenger ones, the white ones. Any MF you buy from Autogeek can be turned into pockets.

I will Have a video up real soon.

Also, I am right now making some finger pockets, which go around ur fingers,.

It's a good idea. I don't have any problems with my MF towels on interiors.

There isn't any selling of products allowed on the forum though. So you're out of luck there.

I never really wanted to get in to it for profit.

But more of a way to spread the word about how much easier they make doing interiors.

In hopes that the larger companies will see peoples reviews and start making them.

And, even tho im technically selling them, I still buy the towels from autogeek. So Im sure they would be all for that.

I understand what you mean by spreading your idea. I'm going to try it myself with a cheap MF towel.

But I don't think AG wants people trying to sell items even if you bought it from them. Imagine someone coming into your own business and trying to sell their own products.

Just a heads up as they take it seriously.

This is a little bit of a counter diction?

Haha it is, but It does make me a profit. Its not enough, but if I gotta take time, I still need supplies and what not.

Regardless it wasnt about making money haha.

It was more of a way to spread the idea.

I mean how much could u make from this really? I prefer it if auto geek took the idea and started selling them, I would by them by the dozens.

Update:

Okay, so as you see I have the big pocket version.

Now I have the finger pocket version.

The new finger pocket size is really good for the center console with all of the buttons and stuff.

HAHA! Perfect Idea! HAHA!

Just coat me in megs APC and dance inside ur car and u will clean it all in a no time.

which towel is the white cobra towel on the store ? or is the coloring wrong on your camera and they are all yellow towels ?

That's a great idea, creative, simple and effective. I'd love to try it out.

Yea its yellow. Just the flash probably makes it look white.

THen I sewed the two sides

Mostly out of curiosity...
(I don't feel the urge to contribute to your Retirement Fund at the present moment):

What type/brand-name of thread are you using to sew??
-Is it: "top-coat paint-film scratchproof"??

:)

Uhm, just to clear it up, im not selling them. I will give some away to select people if possible if they pay for shipping. Which is like idk 3 bucks usps.

The threading cant actually touch the paint nor any interior surface.

Because what u do, is take the two halfs of the MF towel, make the using side face each other, then sew the edges. Now what you do, is flip the towel inside out, which will show the fluffy using side and actually hide the threading on the inside.

Here is a pic, as u can see im not the best haha but the threading is on the inside.

As you see here, the threading is on the inside of the pcoket, which means it will never touch anything on the outside.

As you see here the pocket is flipped inside out like when it was sewed.

I would like to try some out! PM me with details. FYI... there are one or two company's making a similar finger pocket version. So far the only ones I have seen are a very short nap and not very plush not great for interior cleaning IMO. I do however find that for wheels I have been reaching for my MF gloves more often.

I don't really see the point of this "cut microfiber and sew" towel...

Just a regular interior towel works great, has 8 sides of clean surface, and come as is...

If you want something to palm but clean great, then I use
Special Purchase Microfiber Scrubber Pads, tire scrubber pads, cleaning pads + APC

I already hate paying $8 for a microfiber (Cobra Deluxe), but then cutting them up? No thanks

They were meant for the inside. Not the outside. The finger MF pocket make it really easy to clean around the dash panels and buttons and what not.

My big problem was getting a full 16x16 towel in little areas like the buttons. You cant have 4 sides and easily get in small areas. Idk, I just thought they make interior cleaning a breeze. I have used them and will never go back.

Also these cobra towels cost 12.99 for 3, making them about 4 bucks each. But, you can make two pockets per towel. So you can actually get 6 pockets for 12.99.

Also having the 2 sides is nice, because I can use once side with some DP interior cleaner, and the other for distilled water for an after wash.

Really, never I didnt know that. The towels I cut up and use are these ones. So their decent for interiors.
