Pictures from April 9th, 2016 Cars & Coffee

Car enthusiasts start showing up from all over Florida in the early morning to get a good place to park plus some hot (or Iced!) coffee and fresh warm pastries!
Mother nature was on our side this month with a beautiful sunny day in the mid 70s!

For today's tech session Mike Phillips & Nick Rutter demonstrated how to clean filthy seats using a Porter Cable, Upholstery Brush, and a few products from the McKee's 37 line! The demo vehicle is a 1970 Ford Thunderbird that Mike had at his Free Tech Session just a few days ago.

Here's what Nick used to clean and protect the seats:

Grey Ultra Soft Upholstery Brush
McKee's 37 Total Interior Cleaner
McKee's 37 Interior Surface Protectant

As always, Nick & Mike hung around after the tech session to answer everybody's questions.

Here is one of my favorite cars of all time, a BMW 2002:

These cars have one of the most bullet-proof engine of all time, the M10, which was produced for 26 years! There were several variants of the M10 Engine, ranging from 75 HP up to a 168 turbo-charged variant. These engines were so reliable that the most powerful Formula 1 engine of all time was based off of the M10 (with power claims of 1,400 HP!). The most interesting face is that the blocks used to build the Formula 1 engines were taken from USED road cars with over 100,000 Kilometers on them. The theory was that by that mileage any defects in the block would be very apparent and motor was still in good shape it was ready to go racing. Nelson Piquet won the 1983 F1 World championship in a Brabham powered by the motor and they were still racing until turbo engines were banned in 1989. The motor also won the World Rally Championship, 24 hours of Spa and several Touring Car Championships around the world.

Here's the car that won the '83 F1 World Championship:

I've posted a few pictures of this Opel GT before but what I had failed to realize that it has a rear-mounted turbo set-up:

Very hard to capture a picture, this is looking at the turbo set-up through from the rear of the car, the turbo is located just in front of the right rear wheel:

One of the Laguna Seca Boss 302, one of only 8,000 produced:

Excellent variety of cars and great pics :)

Thank you yet again Paul! :props: Great pics.

Obviously you have your "regulars" turning up but it always seems as if there is new cars at every Cars & Coffee. Stunning looking day too, much jealousy being felt. The two Mustangs - I'm liking the "look" - the bigger sidewall tyres look great, everyone down this way is still obsessed with putting the biggest wheels on cars & not thinking about how it makes the car look overall. I'm a fan of this style though, kinda looks like an old school/drag racing deal.

Awesome pics, hope to make it down again soon! Hope everyone had a great time... and amazing job on the interior of the T-bird!

Hey Paul,

Just to comment you've really nailed the art of sharing pictures on a forum.

Most people don't know how much work goes behind making a single picture show up in a thread let along dozens or even hundreds.

So great work buddy!
