Pinnacle Black Label Coatings in Action! Pictures and Video!

CQUK is no picnic. The easiest coating to apply is from Duragloss. There's no need to even wipe it, as it self levels incredibly well. Longevity is about 1.5 years. We have it on one car and still strong after 14 months and a vicious winter. If not for price, I'd only use pinnacle products. They are top notch.

Which product has given you 14+ months of durability?

Thanks - that is quite helpful.

I guess my thinking to recoat is driven by two things

1. Some Swirl marks thanks to me forgetting to tell the dealer not to wash my car when it was in for service - UGGH. Did not help that it was winter and salt covered
2. thinking that CQuartz is supposed to last for 2 years - and well 2 years are up so . . .

Actually the swirls are on the hood and trunk - the rest of the car looks good. So if I could get away with polishing and just re-coating them I would but I figured if I was going to do it, best to do the whole thing

I am ok with the CQuartz application process - so maybe the best solution is stick with it - given I have been happy with it overall

Thanks

I actually re-read my post and have to correct one thing. I said put not GC in parentheses, HOWEVER Optimum Gloss Coat was as easy as the PBL line and easier than CQUK, so my apologies for the mistake.

So back to your reply above^^

There is nothing in the books that prevents you to coat one panel at a time, and there is no issues with trying new coatings (while you are in the process of recoating). Pioneers is what we need that will give us a comparative of their experiences with different coatings. I've found that some are better than other in terms of gloss, protection etc.. and I would not have been able to know without some experimentation and other detailers posting their "pros and cons" and personal comparisons. If the mass agrees then it is very likely that your experience will be very close.

BTW, this "2 year" business is such a cool subject to discuss that I've been tempted many times to create a little exposee on the subject, but as I said (and what you have implied) is that the reason why you are considering recoating is a combo of the looks and the 2 year mark.
