Pinnacle Black Label Surface coating

Hi.

Last week I've used Surface coating on my own car and the finish is really awesome.. ( black car )
But I tried to find specifics informations about the product but I cannot find anything, my questions are :

- Is Surface coating alkaline/chemical resistant ?

I ask because I want to know how to care for coated car, to preserve the coating.

Per exemple : how can I remove bugs ? I usually use bugs remover using the right dilution but now what are the best way to do It without damaging coating ?
Do I have to forget all kind of apc's product ?

Someone can probably provide better info on this topic but I'll give some input. The characteristics of the coating prevent anything for adhering to the coating. I have my wheels coated and a simple rinse usually removes all the crud. Bugs should come off easily with a coated surface. From my understanding coatings are chemical resistant and can only be removed from mechanical abrasion.

I bought a bottle of the surface coating when it first came out over two years ago. Used it the other day with no issues so I'd say the shelf life is pretty good!

That's good to hear since the product description say it will coat up to 25 vehicles.

Yes, to me coatings are chemical resistant, some others brands tell that the product is chemical resistant etc.. But on the surface coating you cannot find informations about that specification.
 
I would check with AG about the Alkaline part. I know high alkaline soaps like those found at self serve car washes will take Gtechniq EXO off. The bugs should wash right off. The coating is pretty much non porous so there is nothing for dirt, bugs, etc. to stick to. Most of the bugs will come off when sprayed with a hose. I'm referring to the coatings I use. Hopefully the Pinnacle Surface Coating works as well. The only Pinnacle coating I used was the original paint coating and that wasn't on the car long.
 
I've been using the PBL Surface Coating for a while, it is a good all around coating, and extremely easy to apply, easier than sealants, a WOWA for sure. It is also good on windshields, wheels, it is a surface coating indeed.
It is not very durable, but it is very economical.
I have a client that I've been reapplying every four, five months, I prefer recoating than using the Booster.
If I were to buy it again, I'd consider the PBL Paint Coating V2, I heard from my reliable source (Tato) that is a LOT better than PBLSC.
 
What do you mean with " not very durable " are you sure ?
Recoating every 4-5 mounths ?

Coatings are made to last longer than wax and most of sealents, If I have to recoat every 4-5 mounths I willn't use it anymore... Others brands offer better results, I've used cquartz on my wheels and 6 mounths after they are still in good condition and they are protected..

Now it's done I'm going to see and make my own opinion but I wish it will last longer than 6/8 months using the right product. ( coated shampoo/booster etc.. ) =/
 
The coating is still there, but not as hydrophobic.
It is a rich client, he pays top money, therefore deserves the best.
I live in a very hot and rainy weather, similar to Florida.
Since it is only two to three sprays a panel, I prefer reapplying it than using the Booster.
Ceramic coatings are more subtle than SiO2 coatings, but lot easier to apply; it doesn't have the candy-like gloss of the SiO2 based.
PBLSC is still a good deal, around 5USD per application.
I also use Blackfire Crystal Coat, but it is a more PITA to apply.
You'll get a lot better longevity if you use it in your own car, but clients usually don't do the proper maintenance procedures, washing their cars in auto washes with harsher cheap chemicals, thus degrading the coating faster.
 
I use PBL SURFACE coating on 3 diferentes cars and only 4-6 months of good beading. Sorry, but my other ceramics coating are more durable (cquartz, gyeon....) im very disapointed

Same here! I'm coming up on two years and still have about 1/3 of the bottle left. I used it on two different sets of wheels in the last month and it has worked just fine. (Frankly, I'm really impressed with the shelf life.)

I agree... shelf life is off the charts. :)
I bought a full set that first sale that never went bad. (More since)

I also agree that it's easier, and more effective in the long run to just do a good cleaning and reapply more coating every 6~8 months over the 'booster'. Sometimes, on dark (usually solid) colors the booster will smear/streak. End up applying it like the coating, IE with the CarPro block and suede microfiber. Might as well just put more coating on all things considered.

I'm sure the coating is still there, just not as slick, and without the extreme hydrophobic properties it once had. That's JMHO of course. ;)
 
Well, thanx to everyone for your helps. I'm really dissapointed about that product.. 4-6 Mounths for a coating, It is not what I was expecting when I bought it.

Even when you see "Last for yearS" I never thought that it will last for years but I wasn't looking for a mounths doing the right maintenance with the right product. I am dissapointed because the finish is really really good on my car, better than more of products I have try, and the beading is impressive. It's still a good product that is really easy to use, I would recommend it for good reasons, but knowing that it will not last as long
