Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax review / side by side with PBL

Recently I won a give away for Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax mini.

It was very easy to apply and buff off, very pleased in that aspect. But I wanted to put the looks to the test.

To get a clean base to use for the test, I use Pinnacle Black Label detail spray to touch up the clean trunk lid. Then I applied a quick spritz of PBL Coating Booster and buffed smooth with the soft green MF towel that comes with the PBL kit.

Next, I put a tape line down the middle and applied the Souveran Paste Wax to one half of the trunk with the supplied foam applicator, buffed off, removed the tape line.

I was expecting to see a difference, but I honestly couldn't tell one half from the other. Here's some photos from various angles and lighting. Can you tell the difference?

Should I have expected it to be noticeably different from fresh PBL?

No, you got it right. Its hard to tell the difference between LSPs using a test spot, as the difference is subtle.

IME, you need to do the whole car, step back, and get a macro view. On film, I believe its impossible to spot differences.

I did that to compare how the car would look when taking care of it with PBL products side by side to how it would look when topped with Souveran

It may be impossible to see from my iPhone photos, I agree. But I couldn't tell the difference with my naked eye either, from many angles.

I don't understand why you think be able to tell the difference over the whole car if I couldn't see it on a test spot? I'd have no visual reference to compare it to.
