Pinnacle SSII vs. Swissvax Glacier

That is the exact approach I will be using on my cobalt (ironic, huh? ). I have very light defects and the paint is not hard so I'm going to use M205 on a Tangerine Hydrotech Pad followed by PO85RD on a white flat pad. Im the MAN
If 205 cleans up nicely...Use a black or blue pad with 85rd to jewel the paint.

Thank you for the link CieraSL, I had actually already read that thread and replied...but thanks!

SO 02CAMSS, you would NOT suggest liquid souveran on white? Have you used both Liquid Souveran and SSII on white?

Thanks

Yes I have about a million times and I still cannot warm up to liquid sov on any white ride and I have owned white cars most of my life.SS II just gives the white a better glow and wetter look to me and I have seen a thousand pictures people post of liquid sov on here that look great but when I see it in person on white it does nothing for me.

Dodo offers a hard and soft wax for whites too ... might save you some $$ and their Red Tropical Mist is a must have item.

Once again after a full polish job or good preclean I think you would be better off with SSII or supernatural than either white diamond or light fantastic and I cannot stress how much a great polishing job even if your paint is money does for a white car.

This test is for cobalt9123 (and anybody else who might find it beneficial). As promised, I did the test today. Sorry I didn't get pics uploaded until now - I went to go see Iron Man 2 tonight. It was awesome! Just as good as Iron Man, IMHO.

Anyway, onward.

Process:
Wash (I washed the whole van since it needed it anyway)
Clay with Meguiar's blue clay and Last Touch 1:1 (didn't pick up much)
M205 with 5.5 inch white LC CCS pad on G110v2, speed 5.5, 4-5 passes
Optimum Finish on 5.5 inch gray LC CCS on G110v2, 5-6 passes
DP Poli-Coat on whole hood
Pinnacle Liquid Souveran on the left hand side of the hood
Pinnacle Signature Series II on the right hand side of the hood

A few notes: I didn't much care for Optimum Finish. Working time was good, but it was a PITA to get off. M205 wiped off super easy. I'm not sure why this would be, but thinking I may just stick with PO85rd as my final finishing polish. Poli-Coat, Liquid Souveran, and Signature Series II all went on and came off easily. All three products were applied, given about 15 minutes to haze, and were then removed. I allowed about 45 minutes or so in between my application of Poli-Coat and my applications of Liquid Souveran and SSII. I used a clean applicator and clean microfiber to remove each product. Any observations made are purely subjective - you should make your own decision.

After M205 and Optimum Finish - no sealant or wax applied

relatively swirl-free

Liquid Souveran on the left, SSII on the right. In my personal opinion, I like the looks of SSII better. I think LS darkened the paint a bit, whereas SSII brightened it up. Just my opinion, for whatever it's worth.

Liquid Souveran side

Signature Series II side

Hope this helps. Sorry they aren't in the sun - the sun was out for a bit and then it disappeared. Maybe it will help you make a decision. Good luck! :xyxthumbs:

EDIT: I should note, slickness felt about the same under my fingers. However, when I threw a microfiber on the hood, it would slide off on the Liquid Souveran, but it wouldn't on the Signature Series II side. I don't know if that necessarily means anything - you can take it for whatever it's worth. Also, I will post back when I get some beading pics. There is a good chance of rain Monday and Tuesday, so hopefully I can get some then.

Gonna show these two again

After polish, no LSP applied

After Poli-Coat, LS, and SSII

You'd probably get a better idea of the performance of these products on a color like black or perhaps red, but on white, it is what it is.

Believe it or not, that LSP helped a ton. It looks a lot shinier after the wax than after the polish. I am very grateful to you for taking time to document this for me, as per your suggestions, and per what I can see from my limited prospective (I actually can see that the SSII side is better looking) I will be purchasing some Signature Series II for my LSP on top of DP-Poli Coat.

Thanks so much for the help and your time! :props::xyxthumbs::dblthumb2:Im the MAN:cheers::awesome::drool:

Glad I could help! :xyxthumbs: I love Signature Series II. It smells so fruity and nummy! :hungry:

I will say, I'm glad got the sample of Liquid Souveran first. Would have been a shame to buy it and then be disappointed with it. Thanks for the sample program AG! :dblthumb2:

Good! I look forward to using it! And it's cheaper price tag is definitely a bonus. :xyxthumbs:

I tend to like paste waxes much better than liquid waxes...they just seem to work better/last longer for me.

To the Op i am going to be running a test on the hood of my championship white EK9 in a week or two and Glacier is one of the contenders.

The full list

Swissvax Glacier,
Zymol Glasur,
Dodo Juice Supernatural and
Valentines Concours.

I plan to do a quick sheeting vid and beading pics after being applied and then again after a month (no Qd's will be used on test panel) and keep going till one or more start to show signs of drop off..

I can post the pics etc on here if you wish?
