Pinnacle Waterless the New Champion?

Gary Dean's is a private company. Gary actually answers emails sometimes on Saturday's. I have used it as a waterless, clay lube, QD and interior detailer. I never thought I could get that kind of shine out of a gallon of water. The stuff is amazing.

I'm not really sure how Garry Dean's company being private or him answering emails on Saturdays makes the product perform better, but I guess we'll have to wait for the head-to-head on that one, I'm sure Roshan will get us some video of the product reading emails (FWIW, Autogeek is also a "private" company, and there sure do seem to be an awful lot of Geeks working on Saturday, not to mention Sunday).

I've never gotten much shine out of a gallon of water, either, without mixing it with some shiny stuff, so again I'm not sure how this relates to the performance of the product.

Setec. Those comments were just a to boot. Tongue and cheek. I think if we can do a head to head would be sweet. I do not think it contains any silicone. It buffs out smooth and clean and does not feel any slippery residue. It feel s clean. I know what silicone feels like on a car. Long story bad body work on my now 13 year old beater

Lets talk price. For those that say IUDJ "costs less" here is the math:

Gary Dean's Infinite Use Deatil Juice Concentrate (8oz concentrate - $29.99):

8 oz makes 3.2 gallons (2.5 oz per gallon of DI water -or- 0.625 oz per 32 oz of DI water)

$29.99/(3.2 gallons)= $9.37 per gallon

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pinnacle 16oz Concentrate(16oz concentrate - $17.99):

16 oz makes 4 gallons (4 oz per gallon of DI water -or- 1 oz per 32 oz of DI water)

$17.99/(4 gallons)= $4.50 per gallon

.... So, just to clarify IUDJ cost a whopping $9.37 a gallon (if you buy 8oz bottle of concentrate) and Pinnacle Waterless Wash costs $4.50 a gallon (if you buy 16oz bottle of concentrate).

Based on this, Pinnacle is less than HALF the price of IUDJ. Now, both product come in other sizes. If you bought the next size up (16 oz) IUDJ it would make 6.4 gallons. That comes out to $6.25 per gallon. Still, about 39% more than Pinnacle based on their entry level size.

Lets say you bought the next size up of Pinnacle Waterless wash Concentrate (64oz). That would cost you $49.99 (plus you get a free spray bottle - worth $5 or so). With 64oz of the Pinnacle you can make 16 gallons of waterless wash. So, that comes to $3.12 per gallon. Still paying less than HALF per gallon compared to the 16oz concentrate of IUDJ.

Lets say you bought a gallon of IUDJ concentrate. It would cost you $159.99. It makes 51.2 gallons of waterless wash. That comes out to $3.12 a gallon.

If you bought a gallon of Pinnacle Waterless Wash Concentrate you would pay $59.99 (also includes free spray bottle). It makes 32 gallons. That comes out to a measly $1.87 a gallon. That's about 40% LESS than IUDJ (based on gallon size of each).

The Final Analysis:

Pinnacle Waterless Wash is cheaper than IUDJ. IUDJ does come in other sizes - so you can do your own math. But wether your just testing the products out (getting the smallest size), or buying in bulk (gating the gallons); Pinnacle is just plain cheaper, period - often close to HALF the price of IUDJ.

IUDJ costs 40% more if you buy it by the gallon than Pinnacle, and it costs over TWICE as much if your buying the smallest size of each just to test it out.

...IUDJ may be a fine product, but its in NO WAY cheaper than Pinnacle Waterless Wash with Carnauba. This does not take into account free shipping promotions and percentage off sales AG frequently has, do they ever do that with IUDJ? Dunno.

To add to the above with UWW+ vs IUDJ (and I hope swanic doesn't mind me copying him a little):

Gary Dean's Infinite Use Deatil Juice Concentrate (8oz concentrate - $29.99):

8 oz makes 3.2 gallons (2.5 oz per gallon of DI water -or- 0.625 oz per 32 oz of DI water)

$29.99/(3.2 gallons)= $9.37 per gallon

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UWW+ (16 oz concentrate $18.99 on a non-AG site):

16 oz makes 5.33 gallons (@ 3 oz per gallon)

$19/5.33 = $3.56 per gallon

Lets say you bought a gallon of IUDJ concentrate. It would cost you $159.99. It makes 51.2 gallons of waterless wash. That comes out to $3.12 a gallon.

If you bought a gallon of UWW+ for $100, it will make 42.6 gallons. That comes out to $2.35 a gallon.

Final Analysis:

No matter what size, UWW+ is cheaper than IUDJ. And unlike Pinnacle Waterless wash, UWW+ can be used for all the same things IUDJ can be ie rinseless.

Also, AG has a bunch of free promotions and discounts which will make UWW+ even cheaper.

Thats why i like the Pinnacle waterless wash concentrate:dblthumb2:

Thanks Art for the sample. I finally got a chance to use the Pinnacle & Ultima together.

I did half the car with each. They both removed light dirt with ease. No difference there, but the slickness left was definitely better with Pinnacle w/carnuba. Looks were very similiar, not sure if I could tell the difference.

I did prefer the slickness of Pinnacle and will continue with that.

Pinnacle Waterless with Carnauba is my new Least Favorite Waterless Wash Product

If you get it on the glass, it smears horribly and requires going over it at least twice with glass cleaner

Then protection it supposedly leaves behind is suspect

I know beading alone cannot tell you everything, but this vehicle was waterless washed with the Pinnacle WW w/ Carnauba on Sunday and was clean when the rain started yesterday. Big drops and low contact angle

This picture is the roof of the same vehicle, which had CQuartz UK (applied 6/13) only on it. The roof was not washed at all and was slightly dusty when the rain started.

Great Product! I got the concentrate on a BOGO and love it. I never had any problem with streaking. I'm using Pinnacle Rinseless to complement the Waterless. Great Combo.

Great..I just ordered a gallon. If it sucks, I'll let everyone know because I like to complain and be a pain in the a$$.
No, really though, it's required to be great--it's Pinnacle. They are the humble king of wax here. Ever notice they don't sell a sealant?
Maybe there's too much nuba in it, which streaked Allen's windows. It'll be here any day. I'll use it before UPS starts the truck back up, and I'll give a response.
Let the king of complaining fill you in

I hope you like it and have better results than I have had

Art Hernandez actually gave it to me and since it was free, for some reason I keep giving it another chance

IMO, the slight amount of protection the carnauba may give is far outweighed by the issues with the glass. The dark tint and large expanses of glass on my SUV make the streaking really stand out

The product completely obliterated then beading I was seeing with the NXT spray wax, which is underneath it (picture prev posted)

I have had much better results with ONR, Pinnacle Rinseless and D114 used in a water less wash technique

I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I've used it on top of 845 and never noticed it reducing the beading, but I have had issues with the streaking.

I originally purchased it to be used as a quick touch up when the car was a little dusty in the warmer months or as a "follow up" product to a touchless wash in the winter. Using it in the winter was a bad idea as the remaining salt grime on the car created all sorts of marring and it streaks really bad in cold (20~40F) temps. It appears to be more manageable in warmer weather, but I was never impressed by the results. Rather than having a better shine when I was done, the finish almost seemed duller...even after buffing. The experience has led me to abandon the whole waterless wash idea. I've just gone back to traditional washing.

I have used Pinnacle waterless and rinseless extensively and find it to be the best overall combo out there. As for those that that says it smears on windows, it can a tiny bit - but just requires a buff with a clean towel - as do most products with any additional protection.

I haven't had any issues with these products affecting beading negatively, but I'm using them with waxed cars. I see this as a coating issue, as it seems some coating manufacturers want you to use special soaps & QD etc... because they can affect the coating. Which to me, is another reason why coatings can be a PIA, because while supposedly being so "tough"; their hydrophobicity is impacted by a waterless/rinseless wash.

This is the beading I get.

I am not a fan of waterless spray and wipe washing. I only do rinseless as i'm much more comfortable with it (using UWW+). Pressure washer rinse + rinseless wash can get me through just about any condition of dirt and only adds maybe 10 mins to the process.

but out of the many I have tried I really do think that this product is the most effective (chemical wise along with good technique) for washing a lightly dirty car without scratching with the spray and wipe method :

Meguiars Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere, waterless wash

I have yet to confirm if the detailers line waterless is the same makeup. does anyone know for sure ? at sema the entire meguiars team was using the OTC product. Truth is neither are cost effective.
