This is my review of the Pinnacle XMT 360 Spray Wax that I received in the recent AG giveaway. I will preface my review by saying that I haven’t used a variety of spray waxes and I usually use Meguiars Ultimate Spray wax so that’s the only product that I can compare XMT 360 to.

I washed my car with Pinnacle XMT Gel Shampoo and Conditioner as described in another review thread. Here’s some pics after drying and before applying XMT 360.

The sprayer produces an extremely fine mist which I like although I’m not a fan of it’s short stroke. XMT 360 Spray Wax is a simple wipe on wipe off product. I applied it to small areas at a time, roughly 3 feet square, After misting on the area being worked I spread the wax evenly on the paint surface using a Cobra Deluxe Jr. 600 towel, flipped the towel and buffed it off. On application I found XMT 360 to be rather “grabby” as the towel didn’t slide easily across the paint as I spread it. Using very light pressure on the towel it wanted to catch and bunch up in my hand rather than sliding smoothly and easily over the paint and wax. That was the case whether I applied it with the shorter nap or longer nap side of the towel. I buffed it off with the longer nap side if the towel.

I was working in the shade and I don’t know if my pictures adequately show it but after applying XMT 360 Spray Wax I could see an improvement in the paint’s shine. Here’s some pics after use.

Conclusions:
Pinnacle XMT 360 Spray Wax does provide a post wash boost to the shine as claimed and expected. However I didn’t like it’s reluctance to be spread easily on the paint when applied. This tendancy to grab and bunch up the towel required me to use more pressure than I liked which caused some some observed surface marring which hadn’t existed previously. It also made it more time consuming to apply than my usual spray wax. YMMV but for those reasons I really didn’t care much for it.

I'm also not a fan of the XMT spray bottles. The sprayer would be much better if replaced with a pistol grip. I like the XMT line as far as clay lube, pad cleaner, and pad conditioner, but the bottles are a pain.

Thanks for the review. Have you used any other spray waxes or super quick detailers?

sure looks crisp and reflective on dark colors ...

I've only used Megs Ultimate Quik Wax and their Ultimate Quik Detailer previously. I recently got some Pinnacle Souveran Spray Wax but haven't used it yet.

Here's a follow up on Pinnacle XMT 360 Spray Wax. The first time I used it I liked it but had some reservations about it. Using it again my technique must have been the problem last time because this time it spread easily and wiped off easily leaving a great boosted shine. Much better results this time and I'm a believer. Now if I only hadn't dropped it and broken the spray plunger. Aaarrrgggh!
It seems to have pretty good longevity also.

I bet Nick and Meghan came knocking at your door after they saw your review and pulled you to the side to rough you up a bit eh...or worst, they were going to blacklist you from Autogeek!

J/K ;) hope all the "raves" about it are worth it, just waiting a few more months to see the durability, since the "new formula" was just released, there is no information about the durability so I will stay subscribed hoping you post the durability reports when you get the chance and see how the spray wax holds up... (I am not expecting a lot, generally spray waxes last 2-3 weeks) just wanted a estimate.

Some how Santa knew that I wanted some for Christmas to he left a half gallon of Pinnacle XMT 360 Spray Wax under the tree for me. I poured about 16 ounces in a new spray bottle I had, adjusted the nozzle and gave it a test drive after washing my truck.

I have to admit, after spraying a little on the folded towel and a bit on the finish, it laid down nicely and was a breeze to buff off leaving a very even glossy shine.

I'm a diehard Optimum Spray Car Wax user and before the new formula of Pinnacle XMT 360 Spray Wax was released it had no competition....I think that's changed with the new kid on the block...:props:

Let us know how the durability is compared to the Optimum. I got about 8 weeks on Optimum.

I've heard xmt spray wax is great in term of looks and slickness.
waiting for someone review the durability comparison of both :props:

I have had it on my truck for 6 weeks so far and it still beads like a champ.

Will XMT 360 spray wax leave hard to remove residue on rubber or plastic trim?

No it will not. Its very easy to wipe off of rubber, plastic trim, and glass.
