Pinstripes

I have a 2003 Honda Accord and was wondering what, if any, effect claying and polishing would have on the pinstripes it has. Should I tape them off when applying product or can I let them go, assuming I'm not compounding? Also what effect would more aggresive polish have on them?
 
Claying won't bother them.I would not use a real heavy polish though to much heat.
 
if they are painted on you "could" go over them lightly, but skipping them is far more avisable. If they are tape version, then stay away as a ROB or ROTARY could easily pull them up.
