Hi all. Need your inputs guys. Over the weekend I plan to do detail correction of my car. It's corolla with soft oem factory paint with clear. Don't have PTG but I do not require it as my car is hardly a year old 20k miles on odo n has been with me from day 1 n there is no repaint.

Apart from decontamination and interior cleaning I require suggestions regarding moderate swirl correction keeping in mind it has soft paint.

Option 1
Flex 3401 with soft buff polishing pads with fg-400 followed by 4500 on finishing pad. ipa wipe n cquartz.

Option 2
Pc xp with soft buff cutting pads with fg-400 followed by 4500 on finishing pads. Sealing with cquartz.

Other products to substitute are
LC hybrid pads
LC ccs pads
Wolfgang duo
Orange peel pads
105/205
Pinnacle SS II & natty blue paste wax

Plz suggest. Mix n match, I'm open to suggestions.

Without seeing pics, it's a little hard to say, but you might start with the FG400 on a polishing pad and see how that works. If you need a little more cut, then move up to a cutting pad. I'd probably do the SF4500 on a polishing pad rather than finishing pad, but you could try the finishing pad first, then step up if you feel you need to. You may not even need the SF4500 as FG400 finishes to a 9 on the gloss scale with SF4500 being a 10. I guess if you are going to use cquartz, it probably makes sense to go ahead and do the extra step though. If you were just doing a sealant, I'd say to do FG400 now and then just polish in the spring with the SF4500 and on all future details unless some scratches get back on the paint.

The only way to tell is doing a test. I have to do one on all my paint correction jobs.
 
I would like to see a pic that justifies you using such an abrasive product.
But then again...it's your car.

Menzerna Polishing Compounds made it clear to their engineers during the early development stages of Fast Gloss 400 Compound; this compound needed to have a tremendous amount of cut while finishing out better than most medium-cut polishes.

Yup u r right, it is too aggressive. I have substitutes which I mentioned. I would appreciate if you guys could pick from the available products, mix n match what you think I should begin with n suggest !!

Mike always says to use the least aggressive method first. I'm not a fan of using heavy cut compounds on what you call moderate imperfection on soft CC.
I personally would test spot another less aggressive product. Then, if that product did not properly correct, then I would move forward with the game plan.

If you have a medium polishing pad such as an Uber green or Orange, try some M205 on it at speed 4 for five to six passes. I think you'll be very happy with the improvement.

For a DD, I would strive for an improvement instead of perfection.
