Plastic and swirls/scratches

I've always heard Meg's PlastX does a good job.

Is it okay to just use a microfiber cloth or should I be using something else to apply Meg's PlastX?

The best way to do that is to remove the trim piece from the car and use a small buffer ball. Polishing plastic by hand can leave mixed results. As for polish, I like Optimum's Polish for plastics.
