If anyone is still looking, it appears Circuit City (package), Best Buy (alone), and Amazon (alone) all have it in stock tonight. Might be a chance to get the hottest Xmas gift from 06. Little late huh ??

I drove by Best Buy today and was wondering why there were so many younger people flooding the place, thought they were having some big sale but must have been PS3 units.
 
I did inventory for Best Buy over the holidays, and we had close to 400 units come through our store in a month and a half. Pretty much any day during the week we had it.. and unless you have HDMI inputs, and a decent TV, it's not really worth it.

I want the Wii.. :awesome:

I went in to wal-mart today they had 1 20gig 1 60gig and 2 Nintendo Wii's. The rush is over....
 
I'm waiting a while before deciding what to replace my aging PS2 with. Currently there just aren't many games for the PS3, it's very expensive, and I'd like to wait and see how the whole HD-DVD vs. BlueRay format war turns out before commiting to either format.

The Wii looks interesting, although it'd be nice if it were hi-def. 360...I've never been a big fan of MS products.

We just have to make sure our little boy dog, Pepper, does not go wee wee on the Wii; that is the kind of mischief he lkes to get into. :( :o (He has done it before, but luckily the system was fine. No, I am NOT kidding!)

just looked at the thread and he said it also comes with talledega nights in the box( still unopened by the way) and he paid 635, thats what he wants back for it. i know he recently hit a curb and needs a new fender and i think suspension pieces(the wheel hit the fender if that puts it into perspective) so thats why he needs the money i guess
 
60 gig lists for 599.99 plus tax. 20g is 499.99. Sony has held the console wars for the last two consoles, has so many developers approved, that it is unlikely they will fail at this also. And just think you currently cannot get blu-ray for less than 800.00. So if nothing else, its a big dvd player with a nice discount.
 
I went to my local GameStop and they have 10. They have had them for a week now. They are out of Wiis and have 30+ orders for them.

I guess 250.00 sounds better than 700.00.

Are the Wii graphics as good as PS3? What are the specs in comparison? I think I will wait until the end of this year until I get a hi-def tv. (42" LCD)
 
We got a PS3 on launch day(only paid retail) and will be getting a Wii for my sons birthday in just a couple weeks. While there are only a couple truly good games currently for the PS3 there are some really promising games in just the next couple months. Resistance is a must have if you have one! Just the idea that this is a launch title says a lot. There are demos of an F1 racing game and Motorstorm that also show a lot of very good physics and graphics. If you have played/seen the kiosk demos of these games don't be put off by the slow movement and poor frame rate as they are earlier builds than what you download onto your system. This think does many different tasks and my son could get along with just the demos at this point and still be happy. If I can spend $70 bucks for Souveran and another $50 for a bottle of polish then $600 and change for a PS3 isn't really that much.
 
How are the Wii graphics compared to PS2 or regular XBOX? The Wii looks like it will be fun and I am over the spending 5 or 6 hundred bucks for a game console. Although if blu-ray wins out then I will definately get the PS3 and have the best of both worlds.
 
Wii graphics are very similar to the Nintendo GC graphics or less than PS2. There are over 20 games currently available for the Wii at this point but few of them seem to be "quality" games that would offer interest in replay. For comparison, the Wii is a "480P" resolution system or barely better than standard definition TV. The PS3 is a mostly "720P" and "1080P" resolution system or "true Hi Definition." The difference in picture quality is night and day.
 
Yeh the Wii's graphics aren't even in the same league, I didn't buy any of the new consoles b/c I don't play much anymore (not time). My PS2 etc just kinda sit there. But I played some PS3 and Wii at a friends house, current PS3 games are awsome and will only get better considering these are launch titles where developers haven't used it to it's full potential. Wii on the other hand was just a "fun" system, not hardcore like PS3 or Xbox 360, but it was just fun. Really cool playing golf, bowing etc with the control, feels like your right there.

As killer said as well, PS3 has blue ray, regular Blue Ray players go for around 900-1000 alone. Though their dvds are quite a bit more, run about 25-30 a piece.

Thanks SpoiledMan and Surfer!!! I think I will hold out until I get my HD LCD TV to consider a new console. Like Surfer I don't have time to play my current xbox.
