Please Help - at my wits end - Megs drying aid

I also have a gallon of CG honey dew, does any one use this as their car wash soap? If yes, at what dilution.

It costs a LOT less than the gallon size glozzworkz and should ideally be just as sudsy.

TIA

The marring could be from all the sand grit you have in the air over there.just a thought.

I use D156 after EVERY rinseless wash. So maybe a few times a month. I don't THINK spray wax is as durable as a paste or liquid wax. This is on top of 2 coats of 845.

I ran into that problem where the wind was blowing pollin and particles that couldn't be seen around. And between the wash and dry there were tiny particles. I only caught it one time when there was a delay between drying and putting on d156. Enough time went by, that when I returned to the vehicle there was a visible thin layer. So I figured that there's stuff falling all the time. One reason I went with master blaster to go totally touch less. And if ur paint is really that finicky to begin with, I would suggest it for you too.

Four shampoos that I *always* keep on my shelf.
Honeydew, Mr. Pink, Hyperwash (all for the foam cannon) and Duragloss 901 (that one may or may not be in the cannon). Can't go wrong with any of them. Although, Hyperwash has a LOT thicker suds/foam than the rest.

I agree that in UAE the sheer amount of dust in the air is an ongoing battle, not just to your paint, but to ALL vehicles paint. That's the equivalent of sandpaper sitting on the surface, day-in... day-out. I might try compressed air before washing, then foaming and let it dwell, followed by HP rinse, foam again, wash with 2BM, HP rinse again. Actually I do it like that, just don't use compressed air as the first step. Yeah I know... OCD much?!?!? :D

Oh... and 135 or 156 would be EXACTLY what you need.
You sort of answered your own question there. You mentioned Barry said too much wax would cause dulling, but that diluting 156 cuts down on it's effectiveness. ;) Nothing wrong with using 156 as a drying aid, and using it often for that matter. Knowing you said you have access to it there, that's what the discussion is about. However... full disclosure... I'll reach for Aquawax 9 of 10 times, even though I have both. ;)

How about using towels as little as possible and using an air-mover such as, the DP Turbo air drier?

Hey Cardaddy, Thanks for chiming in :)

I too felt that D156 would not be a problem as it would be a diluted so i'm glad you confirmed this. I have a gallon reserved and I pick it up the coming saturday. :D

As for shampoo, you mention hyperwash only for foam cannon. Is it also effective as a standalone shampoo? I have plenty of honeydew for my foam cannon and I reserved some hyperwash at the megs dealer too. Hope its good, as most other shampoos out here suc* . That way I can pick up both D156 and hyperwash together on saturday.

Thanks again :)

That would be ideal, but shipping it here would probably cost more than the dryer itself as I pay for every 0.5kg of weight of my shipment.

Hell my last order which had HD speed and HD poxy and aerospace 303 - cost more than my total order. Lesson learned, no overly heavy items in my order.

I do have a cheap leaf blower which I use, but its not a 100% effective (more like 40%).

Another problem is, IF and while I air dry, the strong current of air blows the dust around the garage and then that sits on the remaining drops of water (ugh..). Thats why i resorted to blot drying as much as possible before bringing the blower out. Even with 2 coats of Menz powerlock, not everything comes off when using the blower.

Thanks bud, I have 2 coats of menz powerlock on the paint already :D

If I ever buy a brand new car, I'll be sure to bring my towel & quik detailer with me. That way I can not only test drive the car, but also test wipe it too. Paint that soft sounds like a complete nightmare.

hahah thats actually a good idea :dblthumb2:

Yes...Meguiar's Last Touch (D155) is exactly
the product that you're looking for. :xyxthumbs:

And:
It can be diluted for, as you
mentioned above: Many uses.
(Including claying; and, as a Rinse-less Wash).

Bob
Whats the dilution for waterless?

U should bring something to strip all the fillers to see the swirls

Not a bad idea, but I'm pretty sure they only glaze up a vehicle right before delivery to the customer. I'd be interested in wiping down the vehicles that are parked outside on the lot.
