Please help before I lose my mind! Holograms!!

Bob, as safe as the DA is, you can get those buffer marks that show you where you used the DA on super soft paint. I have to deal with it all the time on my girlfriend's black nissan altima.

Now I don't know if the correct term is holograms or not, but I know exactly what the OP is talking about. It's the mark that shows where you have used the polisher and looks like a ghost trail, much like rotary holograms.

Exactly! But you just use a different polish to get it out, right?

Hi Roshan...

I've always referred to these type of "scratch patterns", when using a DA, as either:
hazing, tick-marks, or micro-marring...not rotary-polisher swirls/holograms.

But that's probably neither here nor there.
Just different terminology usages, no doubt.

The main thing is...IMO
That most of the time this DA: hazing/tick-marks/micro-marring/hologram-like-ghosting
can be removed by re-polishing with a different pad and product combination.

I believe the OP is going to attempt to do so (Menzerna)
and report back with his results.

Hopefully they will turn out to be stellar!!

:)

I've had this happen to me on my Infiniti. Nissan paint likes to give people a hard time, especially black! I've had good results with a red pad on the pc, speed of 4 and Adams Revive Polish. I have yet to try Menzerna.

I hope so too!

I believe you are correct the proper term is DA hazing after researching it up.

M205 on soft paint, I am going to agree is to aggressive to finish down completely haze free on any pad. It's the abrasives in the polish and the friction that create the haze not always necessarily the pad.

Order shipped today! Will report back! You Guys rock!

Ive had the same problem on my black F150. Im still trying to find the right combo with WG products and LC pads. Curious what your results will be!!!

ok, well if you know this is the case.. why not help him out instead of basically just telling him he sucks ??

That's not what I said.
Sorry if you read into my post wrong and assumed I was telling the OP that he sucks.

Techniques are an X factor in all detailing.
Holograms are usually caused by to fast of movement and poor technique.
I can't exactly train anyone in a forum. I'd suggest the OP check out Mike P's videos.
Sorry I didn't explain further, I'll try to explain in detail in my future posts.
And maybe you shouldn't assume.
