That is very interesting. It sounds like this could be a similar problem, but if so, the damage here seems to be much more extensive, covering the entire door panels on both sides. I am going to keep an eye on the forum link you posted. Thank you!!! Please let me know if you hear anything eles about this, or have photos that you could share.

I guess it is possible that all the doors...or a lot of them... for these cars were contaminated with something throughout the build process before paint...causing the later paint blistering or even rust.

There is no visible rust at this point. I suppose it is possible that it is the very early stages of a defect resulting in rust. But like you, doesn't really look like typical rust, but I do not have the experience that you probably do.

Not sure if relevant, but the vehicle in questions travels frequently in the northeast US/Canada, making ~5hr road trips 1-2 times/week. It is on the road quite a bit.

I don't have that much detailing experience...but I do have some auto body and painting experience. It's my best guess that like I said the doors or door skins somehow got contaminated with something before they hit paint...
